Finally some good Barca football again in one hour.

Tenerife are in good form, currently 5th on the table, have not lost in two months and only conceded a goal in last 6 games.

Strong lineup. Don't know how they'll line up in defense though, Engen probably at RB.

3-0 win against Hammarby yesterday to qualify for CL quarter final but City also won so we need to beat them at least 2-0 next week to finish 1st in group.

Good news is that Salma has returned after four months.

Barça's plan with the return of Salma

Salma Paralluelo finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel. She has not dressed short since last August 9, the match for bronze in the Olympic Games that Spain lost against Germany. And she hasn't worn the Barça shirt since June 13, in a friendly in Mexico against Chivas. So her last official game as a Barça player was on June 9, against Betis, from the F League, in which she scored a double.

And during all this time since she disappeared from the football fields, there were a series of questions that were repeated among fans, on networks and in press conferences. What about Salma? Why don't you play? Why doesn't she train (when she was on the sidelines of the group). Are they hiding something from us? Is there an injury?

Both Pere Romeu and Marc Vivés have repeated it on several occasions: “We are not hiding anything from you. Salma is making an individual work plan because the season ended and she played the Games with discomfort and she needed to stop and readapt to be able to compete at one hundred percent.”

Yesterday, she finally entered a call-up and traveled with the rest of the team to Stockholm. There was no announcement of a medical discharge, because there had been no sick leave. Because she wasn't injured. She reappeared just as she had 'disappeared'.

The Zaragoza native tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in 2021, with Villarreal, and returned to play just months later. Then she combined football with athletics, and left the track in the summer of 2022, when she signed for Barça, to focus on the ball. The Barça club wanted to bet on her and it was 'now or never'.

This jump was abysmal in every sense, due to the demand, the intensity, the calendar and the training routines. And while the Barça club took special care of her adaptation plan to the elite (she played 55% of the total minutes, data from Alba Mosquera), the opposite happened in the national team (she played 92%). Her knee ailments were getting worse and worse.

After having pushed her to the limit in the Games, Pere Romeu and his staff considered on her return to the team dynamic that Salma should stop to clean up and a process of readaptation and reinforcement, because she is muscularly decompensated and ran the risk of suffering another serious injury. A couple of weeks ago she returned to training with the group and is now available to play, although whether or not she has minutes today in Stockholm, against Hammarby, will be decided by the coach depending on the context of the match.

If this point has been reached it has been to protect the player and now no one will risk it. Her entry into the match dynamics will be progressive. And it would be nice if, after Barça has 'taken care of' her so much, the national team, starting in February, would do the same. It would be beneficial for everyone.

And now Caro injured few minutes after coming on, FFS.

Hope to be wrong but don't think we can beat City 2-0 without her.

Pina just before HT, nice finish. Need to score another one to finish first. Have a strong bench though not sure how ready Alexia and Caro are to play.

Players were motivated, dominant performance - scoreline could’ve been more than double. Happy to see Salma getting into match fitness, she has been sorely missed in that attacking line and will help Pajor

All without Caro too, very impressive
