You're wrong. Before Messi left, our salary costs were 110 percent of our income. Laporta himself spoke about this. 110 percent of 630 million = 693 million After the departure of Griezmann and Messi, they said that our fund is 430 million. How is this possible?

Both the numerator and denominator keep changing, our revenue prior to COVID was more than 800m and now we are only around 650m or so. So you can’t use numbers from different times.

Also, keep in mind that even though we reduced salaries, a lot were simply deferred, 383m I think according to Romeu today. Those will have to be paid at sometime later.

On September 1, after the departure of Griezmann, Alemany said: Bar?a's salary bill is now 420M. It was at 617M last season. Barca have saved up close to 200M in salaries for this season in the transfer window.

We got rid of Coutinho. Yes, we took Abama, Torres, Traore, Alves, but their total salary does not exceed 15 million euros. We have also lowered Umtiti's HR. Suppose we are at the same level - 420. 420/630 = 66%.

Whichever way you slice it, what Laporta probably wants is for Barca to be well within mark and likely isn't precise with the alleged target he refers to. If mark claimed was 58% the real target is probably 8-15% below it to allow wiggle room considering La Liga FFP and uncertain income levels in post-Messi era that control the squad cost. That + now after Messi gone Tebas even more so can't do exceptions for teams breaching regulations if hasn't done so for Messi in mid-pandemic.

It's become a more delicate game and Laporta is best suited to lie about absolute values to cut shite from squad in the immediate term as can't be called out for until audits or some other person ITK thinks he's taking too much liberty.

I was expecting some negative trend on people unsubscribing after Messi's departure. Didn't happen, but I wonder how many people keep Barca in their feed really.

well the other giants aren't doing very well either, from a sporting perspective. bar bayern, but they're in that shit league and liverpool who has serious contenders in england so fan base has many options.

oil clubs still cannot beat he allure that clubs who reigned supreme over the past 20 years have. yes, PSG and Chelsea are dong very well, but will they ever be favored over real, barca or man utd?

juve, ac milan, arsenal, man utd are those giants that aren't doing good sporting wise.

PSG jumped up 4 places mostly because of Messi. And perhaps a little bit on Ramos joining, at least that's what Result Sports, the agency that compiled this said.

Would be interesting to see if they will lose people after Mbappe jumps ship, but probably won't.

Petrodollar clubs PSG and City will never reach the fanbase of Barca, Real Madrid and Man Utd. The top 3 is iconic as they dominated football for long periods since the turn of the century. Also PSG and City are yet to win the CL to boost their image. Looking at the 4 place jump of PSG from the previous ranking I believe it's mostly due to Messi fanboys also following the club profile.

Not much "prospect" from likes... Barca needs culers that "fund" true merchandise etc.

This are the numbers that "attract" various sponsors. So I hope that next sponsorship deals will be lucrative and pull the club out of the debt.

A lot more common to follow new accounts compared to unfollowing them. Messi leaving Barca probably only made a handful people unfollow.

There's a difference there between him and Ronaldo. Doubt there are many Messi fanboys who don't care about Barca. But with Ronaldo you most definitely have people not giving a shit about Madrid, United and Juve and are quick to unfollow as he changes club.
