FC Barcelona Finances

Tbf it's a lazy guess by media that the Spotify deal is the reason to him quitting. Could well be the opposite as others say, that he left when the deal was concluded.

Officially he's leaving due to family, which actually is the reason why he moved from Germany to Barcelona in the first place, even before being appointed CEO of Barca.

Having a president and a successful CEO at the same time is of course challenging. Both are where they are because they take the right decisions, and if one doesn't agree with the other, there'll be issues.

Rakutun is far bigger brand than Spotify, the company is like 10 times bigger or so. Just not in Europe and that is why they wanted a sponsorship with Barca.
Same with Spotify, who is barley known in many areas outside Europe and North America, so a sponsorship with Barca makes sense

Hmmm, company and brand are not the same. Never even heard of Rakuten before Barca were linked with them. Not saying Spotify is mega known, but more present in terms of marketing IMO, probably also because they sell online services which are easily accessible to all.

You probably never heard of Alibaba Group either, before every other Romanian started buying things from their website or AliExpress.

I think it is a location based, which is why Barca being sponsored makes sense for them.

What's the difference between title rights and naming rights?
.
Also gotta distinguish between "naming rights" and "title rights" here. Bayern gets 6M from Allianz, BVB 5M from Signal Iduna and Arsenal 10M for Emirates Stadium. These are all naming rights.

Barca "only" sells "title rights", which will name Camp Nou "Camp Nou Spotify" or so. Don't know what Barca will get for it, but it can be considered a decent deal if you compare it to those deals from Bayern, BVB or Arsenal. Of course, Barca is the bigger brand, but you can imagine how much more the club would get for "Spotify Stadium" or so.

Camp Nou Spotify sounds fine to me.

Folk making most of it will be Real fans and the usual bitters.

I don't particularly care for one.
Often times depends on sponsor name.
Old Trafford McDonalds sounds a tad worse than Old Trafford Chevrolet.
Long as it doesn't get renamed into the Qatar Arena I wouldn't worry about it

Well not all Real fans but rivals of Barca will think it is something they can mock when I doubt Barca fans will care really.

Obviously some names are worse than others. The cheap/dated/corporate names would come across the worst.
