I for one am thrilled with Spotify. Been using it since day 1 when you needed an invite to create an account.

So much for Messi being responsible for our sponsorship deals. Same as with Ronaldo at Madrid, these clubs are much bigger than any single player.

They kind of are responsible. All those years when Barca and Madrid where the two top clubs must have done wonders for attracting more fans and media attention.

Maybe Ronaldo had a lower impact over Madrid's economic fortunes, but Messi established Barca for domestic dominance and overall success.

It remains to be seen how much money will the club generate post-pandemic, if we get a superstar but don't win much.

Did we become the club with the highest revenue in the 90s?

Not saying Barca wasn't a top club before Messi, but having him won us 8/10 Ligas and 3 CLs(had a bit of an influence in 2005/06 also) in an era when money really started flowing into football and social media, pay per wiew was booming.

Lol. Women's shirt is like 3-4 million. Bayern get 6-7m a year for Allianz naming rights.

You add all of that it's around a 20m increase + a bigger brand (nobody knows what Rakuten does). Plus shorter contract to renegotiate for more if things go well after 3 years and we get back to top of Europe.

And sleeve is still open for another sponsor btw.

The deal is better in every way than Rakuten + Beko. Bigger brand, considerably more money, shorter contract to give you leeway in future negotiations.

I didn't imagine we'd be getting around 100m for kit sponsorship and stadium (the current one) name rights. For a club that is not even playing in CL anymore.

It's the right type of sponsor for where we want to position the club. Let's see what additional mileage we get with the Spotify platform and their userbase. Could be huge.

Previously Socios.com was said to be a done deal for our sleeves, I wonder if it is true.

Sleeves and front of the training kit, no? If I read the original source (RAC1: https://www.rac1.cat/esports/202202...ini-barca-spotify-samarreta-camp-nou-nom.html) correctly, it says that Spotify will replace Beko on the back on the training kit. Beko currently is printed on the front and the back of the training kit, so that should leave the front still to be sold, no?
