OK, not 20m less, maybe 10m less or whatever, it doesn't look like we will be able to recover what we had before, let alone getting more, very disappointing.

Sure, some will say, this is post-Messi, post-COVID so adjust your expectations but still, compared to other clubs like Manchester United (55+24 already and more from a sleeve sponsor), this is very low. Fuck Spotify.

Not just post Messi it is post MSN and a club that had won CL previous couple years and one of favs to win it again. With Spain the best league in Europe and Barca/Real having more or less strongest pull of top players.

United are by far biggest name in far and away most popular league in Europe. A league which is getting more dominant while La Liga gets worse.

Not denying United's popularity, but their glory days ended almost 10 years in the past with SAF gone. Just goes to show us that bad results year after year don't affect the popularity of a club that much.

Now on the other hand I can't tell how many Messi fanboys jumped ship to PSG, but Barca are still, I believe, in Top 3 of clubs in popularity worldwide and that has some leverage in negotiations.

I refuse to accept "Leo is gone" or "MSN days are over" as an excuse for not getting a more than decent amount for jersey, training kit and even Camp Nou title rights. Barca is the most followed football club across Social Media channels so the club should be paid like that.

Today everything is about the brand and getting your brand seen, especially in the business area Spotify is operating in. Moment in time might not be the best for the club to sign a deal though as Barca got eliminated from CL, is still fighting for next year's CL participation and not likely to compete for a title this season.

However, I wanna wait for official numbers to judge this deal. I like Spotify as a brand and think it is a good partner for Barca. Right now there are lots of unknown factors. Are rumoured numbers fixed or are there variables for winning titles that could make it look better and closer to the numbers initially rumoured? For how much club can sell the advertising space on front of the training kit and sleeve on the jersey? We'll find out soon enough.

If it is 52.5m for the shirt sponsor that is around 7/8m less than the 2017 deal and would imagine training and sleeve will be less also... unless they are going to go with more 'risky' crypto currency for that possibly.

2017 we were still one of the best teams in the world. Right now we play in EL and haven't beaten top teams in years(CL). Totally different scenario. It's not unreasonable price.

Yeah, ARA is backtracking too, making themselves appear right by saying with all the add-ons we could get 75m as they previously reported. But the add-ons are probably tough to achieve, linked to trophies.
