Might have to disagree about Ibra here, I don't think he will get another chance to be a leader like he was in Serie A with Inter unless he joins a mid-level team.

And I'm not sure about that Rafa, I've seen articles citing that they (Gerrard in particular, not so sure on Torres) are saying that Rafa is one of the roots of their unhappiness. Although I don't know if they meant that they don't like him in general, or they just don't like the fact that he's being so unsure about staying.

Honestly this is all very confusing and I don't know what to believe so I hope this whole thing is sorted out soon, rather than being drawn out all summer long

On the surface, supposed negotiations are going with the owners and Rafa but I honestly don't see him staying, and his love affair with the fans has withered away this season, especially second half of the season when things where going really badly, as for Torres I think he wants out of England with his recent blabbering about injuries

Well apparently the Juve deal for Rafa is off so I don't know what's going on there.

And that is what I am thinking too because of that interview that Torres gave about injuries... I was slightly worried about him moving to Chelsea though just because they are a championship team, but now it looks less likely that a deal will even be offered. But I knew Man City would never happen.

Where do you think are choices for him if not Barca?

Career wise Barca would be the best move, I think Italy would be a step down Juve in particular, Inter I think are always a strong continental side but other than that, English options should be considered such as Chelsea, if such offers are ever to materialize

Yeah can't see him in Italy... someone mentioned the other day that Bundesliga might be an option (Bayern) but I'm not sure about that one. Could look a good deal if they win the CL final but I haven't even heard of them thinking about him.

Really I can't see him anywhere but Spain or England and only with a team that has a huge chance to win league titles and/or CL... so Barca and Chelsea fit this the best. Preferably Barca of course.

And that's if he were to leave LFC, of course he could still stay which I would also be satisfied with for the time being... if he stays uninjured next year he could help put the team back together.

liverpool's goalkeeping coach is the one to thank for torres' transformation. he gave him pointers on how to deal with every keeper he faced in the PL, which helped him score goals early in his liverpool career, and this allowed his confidence to skyrocket. which was always his problem when playing for atleti (and still is his problem when playing for spain).

I don't see Torres going anywhere thats not England or Spain. I just can't visualize him in Germany or Italy.

If he leaves Liverpool(Doubtful at the moment), like you said its likely Chelsea. Barcelona have not made a move for Torres yet as of my understanding.

The only way Torres comes here IMO is if Ibra is off loaded which is a possibility, of course. But until that happens, I think Torres will not come.

They will look at contingencies for any eventual transfer which would surely have to include Ibra as I don't see how financially Barca could cope with another mega striker on top of a supposed deal for Cesc. It's all speculative as of now, hypothetically this transfer going ahead looks very slim.

Obviously. We won't have Torres and Ibra on the same team, that's for sure. Villa is a different story as he can play on the left wing, but I personally I don't want him. He's 29 soon and it'll only hinder the development of players like Bojan and Pedro. I think Chelsea is Torres's most likely destination if he were to stay in England, but I can see him playing in Italy or even Germany in the near future, Bayern does need a new striker...it'd be nice if we got him, but then of course we'd have to offload Ibra and I don't see anyone that would want him and be able to pay for him at the same time at the moment.

I don't think Villa will hinder anyone's progress.

Bojan needs to prove still IMO that he's ready to be a striker at the elite because in crucial games this season he has not delivered. Having Villa here would be great for him because El Guaje could mentor him plus the fact that Villa is versatile and can play either on the left, center, or right, we would have some good rotations there.

Pedro is already developing and I don't think his growth will be stunted either because I see him getting plenty of action next season.

If anyone is going to see less time next season, its Ibrahimovic because he simply DOES NOT FIT into our system.

We need strikers that are quick, can make runs to receive through balls, and who link up well with teammates. Ibra likes the ball at his feet and too often he has slowed us down.

I think Bojan has delivered every time we needed him to. He scored pretty much every time he started including against teams like Villarreal and Sevilla and he technically scored the goal that would have taken us to the final. To be honest I just have a really bad feeling about getting Villa, it just seems like it'll be another Henry deal with even more money at stake, similar age and position, and while Villa has been playing in Spain for a long time, he'll still need to adopt to playing at Barcelona as things wouldn't be revolving around him as they were when he was at Valencia, and you could also argue that Henry better at his prime than Villa was.

Personally, I can't forsee him having too many problems adapting to our system. Barcelona play very similar to Spain.. If anything, Villa will score more goals here than in Valencia because defenses will have to focus on more than one person whereas in Valencia, defenses only worried about Villa who hardly would get any rest as it was, and he still has 21 goals in the league. He'd probably be the Pichichi right now if he was with us this season.

Henry may well have been better, but we got him at a time that his production was really starting to go downhill at Arsenal anyway, and he was playing in a position he was totally unfamiliar with not to mention a whole new league.

I think its a different situation.

I love Bojan, he has done so much for the team already and he is so young. I think he has proven himself plenty.

And with Torres, yes I know Barca hasn't made a deal yet, I'm just hoping they do  I admit it's a long shot though, and it also depends on whether or not it is true that Chelsea pulled their bid out.

Henry used to play as a winger at the beginning of his career, so it wasn't anything new to him really. And he had a tendency to attack from the left wing, which is also the case with Villa, despite both playing as strikers. And I'd love to share your optimism, but our past activities in the transfer market just don't convince me that we're as much champions in the transfer market as we are on the field.

Give me Torres over Ibra ANY DAY... Faster, works harder, stronger, and more of a threat on goal any day.

Rivaldo I don't blame you for the concern being that lately we haven't had great success with transfers, though Danny Alvez was a great one.

But even before this happened, if anybody would have asked me to choose between Villa and Ibrahimovic, I would have said Villa all the way. Just a better player. Plus.... HE'S MADE FOR BARCELONA... He's 28 and will soon be 29 but he's not past his prime. And what a striker loses in pace, he gains with experience and smarts anyway. Not to mention that when that does happen, we have the likes of Pedro and Bojan in the wings.
