Fernando Torres

Give me Torres over Ibra ANY DAY... Faster, works harder, stronger, and more of a threat on goal any day.

Rivaldo I don't blame you for the concern being that lately we haven't had great success with transfers, though Danny Alvez was a great one.

But even before this happened, if anybody would have asked me to choose between Villa and Ibrahimovic, I would have said Villa all the way. Just a better player. Plus.... HE'S MADE FOR BARCELONA... He's 28 and will soon be 29 but he's not past his prime. And what a striker loses in pace, he gains with experience and smarts anyway. Not to mention that when that does happen, we have the likes of Pedro and Bojan in the wings.

I agree. I never wanted Ibra in Barcelona's shirt. When I heard about a possible Eto'o-Ibra trade, I was praying and hoping it wasn't true...and that was before I knew we were paying them 40 some million euros along with Eto'o.

Atleti :hooray:

Although it must have been a huge conflict of interest for him when Liverpool were playing them. Imagine if he had played. Torres vs. Forlan...

Yeah he is getting screwed over in the end, Liverpool are shite right now but he just took a chance and went with it. tbh I never expected Atleti to do all this either.

he got owned.

left atleti to win stuff.

he has fuck all.

atleti could have a cup double.

But he improved loads at Liverpool, I think being one of the best strikers of his generation is worth a lot more than winning a couple trophies but maybe that's just me

Yep, his first season with Liverpool overwhelmed many, great adaptation, he deserves what he gets.

Yeah I probably would have done the same had I been in his shoes and it did give him a chance to improve greatly, but I think I can see where Meta is coming from I guess. Could have had a lot more glory with Atleti right about now than he has had at Liverpool this season, might not have ended up being injured so much either.

But I still think he made a good choice coming to Liverpool although perhaps that's because I support them, lol

i know this is nearly impossibe but if we somehow could offload ibra for a good amount of money
i'd prefer we get villa and torres at the same time and loan jeffren out. this way only pedro and bojan has to compete for the 3 other spots.
last summer we started with kinda the same format, bojan, jeffren and pedro fighting for the 3 spots up front.
so in this scenario, only bojan and pedro have to fight it out.
what do you guys think?
i mean torres-villa partnership already works in the spain nt so why not here at barca with similar players around them.

FFFFFFFF but now what about Fabregas? lol this is so hard and confusing

tbh, i dont think we need fabregas now.
our midfield is sufficient with thiago and jds coming thru.
and we should not worry about cesc as he will definitely come here in the future, so no rush

hasn't the arguement been that the depth in the centre has been worrying with key absentees in parts, throughout the season, what if Barca go through that cycle again. Maybe Thiago will add to the balance, but pep may still feel he needs something more.

When considering our midfield, people tend to forget Iniesta is injured for 1/3 to 1/2 of every season. Thiago or JDS COULD fill in pretty well, we're not sure. But most of us KNOW Cesc has a way better chance at doing so.

Where do you think are choices for him if not Barca?

Chelsea really wants him imo. For the sake of every other team- I hope they dont get him. As much as I hate Drogba, he is great at what he does. Drogba/Torres combo upfront is just scary.

As far as other teams that would be good for him....I'm not sure. Juventus have a decent team but their strikers are total garbage. Torres would be their savior...but would that be a good move for Torres?! Doubt it. I don't see any other team in Serie A being worthy besides Inter and they don't need him, not nearly enough to warrant spending such a huge sum. I think Torres could do well at Barca, he'd have to play a similar role to Henry- except he's currently (this year and last) faster, stronger and in better form than Henry. I see Villa fitting us slightly better, yet Torres is younger. Torres pace/style seems fit to be an counter attacking type, which makes EPL a good place for him. Where Barca controlls possession most of the game I'm not sure he'd fit right in, although I think he has the versatility to adapt, it is something he'd definately have to do.

Perfect club for Fernando Torres? Hate to say it but - Arsenal. He is EXACTLY what they need. A powerhouse, worldclass striker to lead the line. With the rest of the team maturing and Arshavin/RVP on each side (wing) of him you bet they'd be european contenders. If Arsenal holds onto Cesc, Song steps up again next year into a powerful holding mid and Nasri keeps improving (great season) they'll have a great starting 11. The defense will have to man up, maybe some reinforcement as well, but I see Vermaelen being a leader next year. Great for Arsenal and Torres imo.
