Fernando Torres

Maybe Del Bosque thinks he'll be fine because it's Poland and not a competitive team, starting him off easy I guess. But still, they better be careful. I trust the team though and Torres himself on their judgment.

It's not as ridiculous as you might think. He was very nearly Shevchenko's replacement in 06, he made alot of noise about his like for Milan and due to a close relationship between the clubs a deal was agreed in principal. However Milan got cold feet as Oliveira was a bit cheaper, and there were doubts at the time about whether Torres was consistant enough, and being Spanish whether he could.

Right now its difficult to see because as mentioned Milan don't stump up the cash for Dzeko, but then Dzeko isn't a big name, or wasn't last summer when we turned him down. Every so often Berlusconi steps in and treats himself to a big star when the spending is over. He did it with Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Nesta in the past.

who knows where he'll end up tbh. Thought he would stay at Liverpool but they threw another curve ball by getting rid of Rafa. They need to get on the ball to replace him or everyone will leave.

Torres would be a good fit on Milan actually, much more so than a Spanish team. He won't get the space he gets in England but his speed could serve a balanced system like Milans. He's probably at his best in the EPL though.

I could see him more at Inter though if Rafa tries to bring him with, I don't think he will though. Although it would be interesting to see how he would gel with Ronaldinho at Milan too. And Torres moving to Serie A would just give me an excuse to watch more football because I don't watch Serie A right now, could never get into any team.

So I guess there are plus sides but I don't think he will go there anyway... at least not for a while. I'm betting he'll stay in the EPL unless he has another injury-ridden season and then he would consider other leagues like Serie A, or perhaps toward the latter part of his career he would consider going back to Spain to finish out, or dabble in other leagues then just to have had more experience... that's just my conjecture though.
