Fernando Torres

If not for Torres/Gerrard, Liverpool wouldn't even be in 7th place, they would be out of Europa league even... and they would probably be higher if Torres was not injured, maybe even CL next season if he had played every match but you never know.

If you follow Torres as much as I do you will see that he really is world-class, both at league and international level, not the best in the world (that honor goes to Messi) but surely one of them.

Do you actually believe Torres is better than Villa? All evidence points otherwise.

I'd say Torres is one of the top 10 best strikers, but he misses out on the top 5.

Torres and Villa are both top 5 to me when they're at their best. But El Nino and El Guaje are different in terms of style. Villa is the more technical guy who relies on his skill and smart runs into space whereas Torres is the big target guy who's strong in the air and can beat the defenders on pure speed.

I never said that, I think they are both fantastic and are strong in different ways, neither is "better" than the other to me.

Strangely enough I like Messi at almost the same level but I just don't gush about him on here because pretty much everyone here loves Messi... so there is not much of a discussion other than how great he is  Same with Xavi

Although I feel more for Torres too just because I have followed him longer than Messi and Xavi.

So how come you became a Barca fan then? (just wondering)

Well I first noticed Xavi in Euro 08 and then I started watching Barca in 2008-09 season to see him and got to know the rest of the players, really started appreciating Spanish football, my only experience in La Liga before that was some Atletico matches when I first discovered Torres. Then the final push into Barca fan base for me was them beating Man Utd in the CL, meant a lot to me as I hate that club, although I would still love Barca regardless :D And now I love Barca and always will.

Yeeahh I forgot :p You told us alreayd but i completely forgot your background story.
Ok, i was just wondering how you could've been following Torres for longer than Xavi since Xavi's much older, but now, remembering your bonding moment with Barca, it makes sense ;)

Yeah it meant a lot to me as both a Liverpool supporter who hates Utd and as a then-newbie Barca fan :D

Strangely enough I guess you could say it is because of Torres that I started watching Barca, because if Torres was not on the Spanish NT I might not have paid much attention to the Euro 08 final and saw the greatness that was Xavi. Although Messi got my attention the year before too so he was another reason I turned to Barca, as an alternative to the CR wankery that was going on in the EPL at the time.
