I just dont understand why isnt the Club and Coach paying attention to our defence line-up ... with Yaya gone, we'll even lose an ok make-shift defender !

Torres never impressed me in national team, only very few times. But I seen him playing CL KO round and he was pretty good. I still believe we don't need him and won't need. Bojan with couple years will be close to Torres level or even better, also Torres stated that EPL is his fave league, anyway...

For my part I don't understand why can't we realize that we are in dire need of another striker; provided Ibra goes away. A 1-2 formation with 2 CF & Messi behind them best serves Messi's capacity by allowing him the freedom & creating for him the space to wreak havoc on the opposition. & the last time I checked, one of our nagging problems has been teams with parked buses in front of their goals when playing us. With 2 strikers you can expect to increase the probability of converting all those chances & possession that we get.

I agree we need not neglect our defense; but we also seem keen on Mascherano who is arguable as solid defensively if not more than Yaya. & with Fabregas in the fold, we are likely to see a much more resilient midfield.

Messi, Villa, Bojan, Pedro. Even if one is injured which hopefully won't happen, we'd still have three if Ibra goes. With Torres I'm betting the starting lineup would always include Messi, Villa, and Torres while Bojan and Pedro get left in the dark. Bojan especially has the skills to be another great, but that won't happen if he's on the bench more than he is out playing.

Also it is being reported that Liverpool are holding onto Torres like nothing else (which is right for them to do, even though they are in need of money, selling Mascherano would be less of a blow to them and also score them a decent pile of cash) so it's highly doubtful we'll get him.

Arsenal are doing the same with Cesc, but if the player wants to go, there's nothing they can do about it. They can always keep him & pay his salary; but will he perform? We seem keen on getting him & I don't see any reason for him to stay; there's no Benitez, no CL, no funds, most likely no Mascherano & maybe no Gerrard either. He may stay out of loyalty to the club; but Liverpool is no Atletico & even then he did leave them to play with a better team.

With MTV as our attacking trident we would have Bojan & Pedro as replacements. We can always shift gears & play with a 2-1 trident with Pedro in the fold & I think we need to diversify our tactics not just rely on the brilliance of our ranks. I am concerned about Bojan development, but injuries will happen, rests can be crucial ahead of big games & with 2 strikers in your lineup you can easily integrate a mild rotation policy on top of it all to allow for Bojan's development. You have to consider that with only Messi, Villa, Bojan, & Pedro; a single long term injury and you're playing at the edge with no replacements. Bojan will probably not replace Torres in the pecking order, but Villa is 29, Bojan is 20 & I suspect before the end of his contract he would've nudged him to become a starter.

Torres has not expressed interest in leaving though, that is the thing, while Cesc certainly has. If anything he has said he's staying, if Reina's comments are to be believed. I think Torres loves Liverpool more than Cesc has ever loved Arsenal.

the fans there really know how to treat their players well.
look at the number of times gerrard was tempted to leave but because of the fans, he stayed at the sinking ship.
