I know there are a lot of mixed views, but I'm against selling him due to the fact these guys will turn around and likely sign trash with the money.

No attempt at even getting a real DM with that money, they'll be like "Neves, Tchouameni? To much money" and They'll sign Soler as FDJ's replacement and he'll probably end up being just another Denis Suarez, Andre Gomes etc.

Good sale if true. He just does not fit, his place is in a double pivot. As a lone DM, he is worse than Busi, and he is average and inconsistent at CM. I suspect Kessie is supposed to be his replacement, and we will sign one more CM, and maybe even a DM

Selling big is a good way to get some wiggle room for signings. Barca doesn't have a lot of players that could get sold for a big fee and of them Frenkie is 1) the most expensive for the club and 2) probably the most expendable one.

So not too surprising they consider this. Not stoked about it personally, but depending on fee and what players join in return it could be worth it.

Rumours also emerging that there is no money for signings, and we will struggle to register the free signings- like last summer.

Sport angling that we are closing in Marcos Alonso and Azpi. Maybe Raphinha comes as a squeeze if Leeds go down.

Basically quality goes down, depth goes up. A solid season in 2nd, a Champions League 2nd round exit and a Copa Del Rey if we are lucky, is on the cards next season.

Well probably use it to sign Lewandowski and some other players from lower tier LaLiga teams that Barcelona rate way to high.

Would you guys sell him if an offer arrived? Say we get 80m and we can spend it all on transfers. Would you do it?

I'm beginning to see him more and more in no man's land. He's good in both defence and offence, but not enough to make a difference.
There are more direct box-box midfielders and he's either too bad in defence or offense to play DM or attacking CM, respectively.

Still don't know what system or position suits him the best. He's good enough to be a cog in the machine, but I want him to be the focal point of a midfield for the price we paid.

Was already in on this in October, not surprised that it's happening. Post still relevant after 6 months.

That makes it 100m in sales for Coutinho + Frenkie so far. Can hopefully reach 150m before the end of the summer, not counting Griezmann.

Let's not forget that Torre is joining. Hopefully we won't have to spend money on another CM this summer with Kessie and Torre coming. Wouldn't mind a DM though, unless Kessie is miraculously better than Busi there.

It's just the Bordalas system, he had good completion percentage in other years and for Spain and would do good here so wouldn't mind him for 15-20m as a squad player. Probably in rotation with Pedri (we need to manage his minutes better so he doesn't become injury prone) while OTOH I think Gavi will rotate with Kessie. Busi will of course again play 95% of minutes.

Sell for a high transfer fee, and bring in an AM, someone who can drive the ball up in the center of the park, pick out key passes in front of goal and/or score himself. Consistently.

FDJ is also on high wages. Point is, if we are not going to Play to his strengths, we may as well replace him with someone who has a profile closer to what Xavi wants.

What is important is that midfield signings be chosen carefully post FDJ.
