Nah, he showed nothing to warrant that trust. It's make-believe. I'd rather invest in a DM.

Make bellieve is to make out suddenly watched a lot of past games to change opinion on Busi who you have gone from wanting Puig in ahead of to him being 'best play maker' and worth his place.

Nothing changed on Busi other than like all other opinions on players change purely becuase cant handle anything negative being said about Xavi.

Yes he was.. you are making things up as suddenly decided Busi is worth place because Xavi picks him when he is same player as was before.

Busquets at DM was being targetted and exposed time and again towards end of season and play making for what? the ball to get slowly to wide players to then get a ball in.

There is a video of Barcas best goals under Xavi and FDJ was involved in more of them than anyone else. Not Busi dictating to open game up either.

Busi will be gone soon. So, irrelevant to the discussion. This is about De Jong being hard to implement in a 4-3-3. He's not a lone DM, and a crappy box to box player because of poor performance in the last third.

No.. you are claiming Busi was better than FDJ last season when he clearly wasnt and making out he is some top play maker when Barca were struggling to break teams down when left him on ball and sat deep.

Playmakers cant be a slow as he is and fail to get on ball in position to recieve it in certain situations. While doesnt move the ball nearly quick enough often.

Not irrelevant.

Go watch who was involved more than anyone else under best goals of Xavi... and it was FDJ.. who also played better at DM than Busi in his one game towards end of season. In large part due to fact he can move as much as anything.

Busi was better last season, but they don't play the same position in the team. That part is what makes De Jong's place in the team hard to support. Maybe he can improve, but if he didn't do it so far, something is off about him.

No.. you dont even understand what box to box is.. we had this discussion before when yoiu scoffed at Keane/Viera being box to box.

As for 'crappy in final third' he has created more chances than any other mid per 90 last season in league.. more than Pedri and Gavi and did the same the season before I think.

Again.. if think so bad in final third.. go watch that video of best goals under Xavi and see the player involved more than anyone else.

He absolutely wasnt.

Busi was same as ever and made some awful mistakes v Real Vallecano, Real etc which led to goals and had many more he got away with in first half of season.

Towards end of season he was atrocious and could barely run in that run of four defeats in five.

Frankfurt fucking tore him a new arsehole and only quality from midfield in that tie happened in first leg when FDJ came on and did what Busi and Pedri couldnt to control game and set up equaliser with some great play in final third is an example.

FDJ was better.

Complete bollocks. When De Jong approaches the final third, he becomes precipitated, takes wrong decisions, and hesitates to shoot even in top positions. And so on. He's not box-to-box. He's a pivot that needs babysitting.

An argument with half the posts filtered here... Not so interesting...

But if this:
"Selling De Jong only helps to register Kessi?, Christensen and Roberto. Not Demb?l? and also not Raphinha. [ara]"
Is true in any sense, then that is very interesting, and so absurd I can't even. They are destroying things in a very fast pace.

This situation is so awkward. Frenkie refusing to join United, Barca AND United basically dragging him kicking and screaming.

We look like cunts coming out of this. If only Laporta sat down with him without the media circus, maybe he would of cut his wages (if his sale is finance related)

I would say he'd be the perfect partner for Makelele or Essien in a double pivot. I don't know what that makes him.

The funny thing is he played his best at Barca under Koeman as a libero.

It is lies from the club to put pressure on him.

They are full of shit.

No... FDJ created more chance than any mid the past two seasons.. and as said watch the videos of best goals under Xavi.. heavily involved in final third v Real, Napoli, Frankfurt and many more.

You dont have any idea what box to box is and its not about being an AM. You have shown this before.

What is bollocks is making out Busi was better when at same level you used to cry about Puig not being in team ahead of him.

Busquets had 16th best passing % in team... his worst of at least last 5 seasons.

Was leaving the defence completely exposed time and again by chasing ball out of position.

Made numerous mistakes with his passing that directly led to goals against and many near misses particularly in early part of season.

Towards end of season once Xavi had bizarrely played him in record minutes his legs were done and he couldnt keep up with game as teams sat back and hit on break to expose him and the defence. Being a big reason behing four defeats in five that effectively ended the season.

In that run of defeats FDJ played DM and was better than Busi in surrounding games as he could move.

Box-to-box is a "modern" term to define a versatile midfielder with an engine who could help in both the defensive transition and offensive phase. I don't think De Jong qualifies. He's average in most attacking aspects and should be a deep player. But at the same time, he's not disciplined enough to play as a deep player.

No it is not a 'modern term' and it is used to desribe a player that gets up and down pitch to help at both ends not a AM to open game up.

Name one box to box player that you think fits your description... you will avoid it as cant.

You thought Frank Lampard was box to box and scoffed at Keane/Viera being that.

Dont have a clue.

Watch this and see who was involved in build up to more goals than any Barca player.. it was FDJ.
