Gareth Bale

Faceless

No more faces at night
To stay loyal and get a pat on the back, or take the cash and end up on the bench/playing with a big amount of pressure.

This fiesta is going too far.

Agreed. Jese is such a great young prospect, I'd hate to see him rot on the bench...He is similar to Ronaldo, but he's young and could one day maybe even take over, who knows...Ahh I guess we'll never know.

Hi, its me..
Gareth Bale is 'furious and frustrated' at Tottenham's handling of his proposed transfer and will not attend training today, Sky sources understand.

The Wales international was expected to meet up with his Spurs team-mates but he did not turn up and is unhappy with how the club are dealing with the situation.

basic football rule: if your built up to be something greater then you actually are you will be ripped apart by the same angels that built you.

seriously its stupid. success leads to marketing. marketing cannot sustain marketing alone. bale is not worth half that 94m or whatever ridiculous some they want to pay for him. he can only fail with a price like that.
there are all sorts of compatibility issues with putting bale and Ronaldo in the same team. it will be much like when they tried to force beckham into the squad. both are players that demand a lot of time on the ball and take many shots, but with Ronaldo being el supremo and considering Ronaldo takes on average 8 shots a game (by far the most in Europe), bale will have significantly less opportunity to utilize one of his most spectacular assets in his long shooting.

neymar can start slow. it will give him to acclimatize, and make him, in perspective, the media underdog (simply as a juxtaposition to bale), and I suspect, neymar will thrive in an environment where the heat of the spotlight won't wilt him down. he can experiment, make mistakes, learn, and grow while bale has all the expectations.

and tehn when neymar is ready for the marketing, his success will be proven and incontrovertible, and the lure for all the marketers in the world, while bale whilts and fades into obscurity (and mental anguish/scarring).

hamzah is right really.

the galatico model is absurd.

What exactly is this "Basic football rule " that no one heard of before ? ... do you have a different football rule over there ?
Just to prove the false hypothesis of your post concerning marketing / success... just check how many trophies we won in the last 10 years compared to Barcelona and how much money we made also compared to Barcelona (who were the most successful team in the last 10 years 2003-2013)
Than you will know what seriously is stupid , FYI Inter was treble winner and i guess let's all agree that this is the ultimate success right ? how much money was made beyond the prize money ?
Financially & sporting wise the galactico model is not absurd it was extremely successful, what wasn't successful (because i know people throw in headline tags without knowing what the hell they are talking about ) was the "Zidane's Y Pavon"s " simply because while the "Idea " was great the level of Pavon's was far in terms of skill than the Zidanes
So you have the crap of Pavon , Mejia , Raul Bravo covering for Zidane , Figo , Ronaldo...
if your Pavon's (youth team prospect in a given time frame ) are great ... let's say Barcelona youth in the last 10 years and you add Ronaldinho , Deco , Villa, Alves etc than the model can work
It has nothing to do with buying galacticos because (and here is your basic football rule of the day ) with proper/half decent marketing team those players cover for their cost with ease
Neymar is a galactico so is Bale , Goetze , Cavani etc .. those make people follow X or Y team... i can tell you many people started to follow PSG not because it was bought by the Qatari royal family but the presence of Zlatan , Thiago Silva etc not for Chantome , Sakho .. same for City

Neymar will succeed or Bale ? has so many factors from team mates to adaption... you talk about Ronaldo & Bale forgetting Messi with Villa & Zlatan ? i posted a picture sadly it was put in the troll quarantine thread...(Tight mods ;) ) it's basically Dinho , Eto'o , Zlatan , Villa's head on wall and Messi is cleaning up his next wall trophy that has Neymar name on it .. a lot can happen .. while Neymar will have to adapt to Europe , la liga and the way Barca play at least Bale already know Europe and how the game is played in the CL so he need to adapt to Real & la liga only...

Still, Neymar has had the whole preseason to adapt to Barca, the Liga, to Martino and to the fact that he's no longer his team's main attacking force. Bale still has it ahead of him, with the enormous pricetag putting more pressure on him than there ever was on Neymar. And he has much less time for that, given that it's already the third week in La Liga and Ancelotti won't have as much time to "ease him in" as Martino did with Neymar.

Regarding Neymar/Messi parnership, both are playing on their preferred position, which is a huge advantage compared with the Zlatan situation. Bale would have to play out of position. Also, Neymar is freaking 21 years old and isn't as much of a fixed and finished football personality yet as Zlatan, Villa or Ronaldinho were. He's much more influenceable still.

Then there's this problem that one of the RM players will have to get the short end of the stick to make place for Bale, while Neymar is more or less an upgraded, better substitute for departing Villa.

Anyways... my point is, Neymar definitely has an advantage pressure-wise. I don't really care if Bale fails or not, or, to put it better, I don't want him to fail. I don't doubt that he will be a success sooner or later either. But I do suspect this deal will make things easier for Neymar a bit.

Speaking of which, I thought the deal was going to be announced today?

I love how Perez is going apeshit just because he couldn't land NeyGOAT and is considering to pay € 100 million-ish for a mediocre midtable 20 goal a season footballer who takes 10 shots per game.

No, I don't dislike the man, I just think he can be an idiot sometimes. He's done a tremendous job for RM financially, I just wish he'd do the same football-wise.
I was quite happy with him this summer tbh. He bought great players, promised to renew Ronaldo, brought in Carlo who promised great football. But this is turning into idiocy, this Bale pursuit.

Neymar adapting to Europe is bs. He will adapt quickly and do well, with less pressure. I already explained why that picture with the heads in the wall is wrong check the troll thread.

These types of situations, where players get furious with their teams for not wanting to sell them etc, is very pathetic according to me. The players (Bale this time) have signed contracts with the clubs, puting pen to paper that they stay loyal to the clubs, and do their job. Getting angry because the clubs don't want to part ways is just so low imo.

Yes, but he, the same as Modrić btw, has been promised something. I understand why they don't want to let him go, but he has a right to be upset. They didn't qualify for CL plus they were offered a crazy sum for Bale. When you have 100 mil on the table for a player such as Bale, YOU TAKE IT. Levy is being way too stingy.
That's not to say I still don't want him here. But Levy isn't doing us a favor (nor should he) and he's certainly making life difficult for Bale.
Ah it's a completely useless soap opera...
