I've always said this guy is a one trick pony, he never looked that great at Tottenham despite his stats.

Really? His last year at Spurs i thought he was absolutely sensational. Some of the goals he was pulling off week in week out to drag a bang average spurs to a point of 4th had me speachless.

And i would in an instance spend £80 million on brining him back to the prem because i know he would be a match winner and the best player in the league. People down play his last year but there was a reason he is the most expensive player ever because he was that good.

That's my point. And to me he's playing like he did last season, being anonymous whilst getting the odd goal or assist because Real Madrid tend to be a lot superior to most sides they face because of the real world class players in the squad. Bale is a luxury passenger with poor technique.

Being a one trick pony doesnt always hurt as much as you would expect, Robben is the best example but he still succeeds at it.

That's true but skill/technique/flair>>>>>speed/athleticism always. That's why players like Xavi and Pirlo carry on playing into their 30s but players who are pure athletes seem to fade out as they get to 30.
