Had they gotten Neymar they would have groomed him into cr7's replacement for the Messi rivalry by now.

Bales first season was in a Madrid team at its peak for years in a counter attacking system that totally suited him.
Neymar came in to a Barca side that was still clinging to the football of Peps era with slow passing based on Xavi/Iniesta and Messi at false nine that had leargely stopped being effective in the biggest games. He never got the ball early enough or often enough to be able to impact games in way he does now.
Obviously he has improved but not as massively as his numbers/performances would suggest between 2013 and 2015.

When yesterday was a "good performance" for Bale it just goes to show how low the expectations have dropped. It was a decent/ok match, i wouldnt call it good. Not that anyone else played well either and he isnt the only one who must be sold.

We don't even need to buy anybody. (GK + 4 defenders) James,Isco,Modrić/Kovačić, Kroos/Casemiro, Benzema, CR.
In my opinion the easiest way to fix this current RM side is balanced. All 3 fields(defence,middlefield,attack) are disconnected. We could easily fix that by selling Bale and buying a workhorse who can connect it(like Verratti).
- Biggest problem is that the 3 fields are disconnected
- 2nd biggest problem is that "wingers" aka Bale and Benzema don't track back.
Our best lineup is 4-4-2 because it's balanced. Ronaldo SHOULDN'T play as a LW. He doesn't track back so Marcelo has to do everything from defending to attacking,that's why he gets injured. Because Cristiano doesn't help,he just moves out of the way cuz he can't dribble for shit. We need a classic winger,aka pacy and can dribble and isn't afraid to track back. There are countless of options to buy for this position. Kroos is easy to exploit,he's slow and doesn't hold onto the ball that well. Tbh I wouldn't mind us selling him for some nice money.
Imo squad overhaul is needed. Sell Bale,Kroos and even Ronaldo if needed. Bring some balance to the team and an overhaul because everything is fucked. From Perez to Benitez to the lazy egoistic fcks Ronaldo and Bale

Selling Bale and Kroos would bring in over 150 M $$ and Ronaldo to PSG also another 50. Our defence of Ramos,Pepe,Varane(+ Vallejo) is good enough and we are covered on the RB with Carvajal /Danilo. For defence the only thing needed is Marcelo backup,probably some young good talent who's at least better than Arbeloa. Moreno,Gaya,Rodriguez are among the more expensive options. Navas for DDG is optional but it wouldn't cost too much (for example selling Navas for 15-20 M then buying DDG for 40-50).
For MF we already have plenty of options (James,Isco,Modrić,Kovačić,Casemiro,Asensio) etc . We should still look for Tielmans/Verratti who are highly contested. Verratti will only work if we sell Ronaldo to PSG or if PSG buys Pogba or even both. I'd prefer Dybala for the RF position and if we sell Benzema then it's Aubameyang/Embolo or something. I'd sort it like this and I'm considering DDG a must because he's Spain's GK(our tradition).

Bale - 80 at least - It'd probably be Navas 15,Kroos 60+,Ronaldo 70,Bale 100. We can get at least 250

LB backup . This would come around 230 if we pay 100 for Verratti and 20 M for a backup LB.

It's obviously very hard to pull but we could manage without Verratti by fielding for example Casemiro-Modrić or Kovačić-Modrić. The main point is getting rid of Bale/Ronaldo or both if possible and getting Dybala. I think this starting 11 would be magnificent. Verratti and Kovačić are worksehorses who aren't egoistic,they'd help the defence so much and it would free-up Modrić who's in the same position as Marcelo now,being overloaded with duties. Not to mention that players like James,Benzema and Isco would have so much more freedom.
Better defending, more connected DEF,MD and ATT, players having more freedom and not being choked by the laziness and egos of Bale and Ronaldo. Much better dribbling and passing since Bale and Ronaldo don't excel at either.
