Gerard Deulofeu

It's irrelevant anyway. No forwards from La Masia will break through to the first team and get more than the "Munir/Sandro role" in the near future. Nerman is a kid. Messi and Suarez are 27 and the best in their positions. When they start to decline significantly in about ... 6 or 7 years, we can start to "get the choices right". It certainly won't be the Deulofeu/Adama generation other than Adama learning quickly how to turn into a right wingback.

Busquets broke into 1st team with amazing trio like Yaya/Xavi/Iniesta in midfield ,Messi broke into 1st team with the Eto/R10/Giuly frontline while he was 18
If a prospect is really good he will prove himself in whatever situation or get loaned ,we need more than 3 players for 3 man frontline

Pls. Busquets' never competed with Iniesta for a spot. No need to mention Xavi and Iniesta to big up his supposed competitors when it was only one player who wasn't even an out-and-out defensive mid despite making it work with his versatility. Even then it can be argued that it wasn't down to Busquets outperforming Yaya but Pep having a different type of player in mind that fitted his system better. This is not going to happen upfront where Dongou or Sandro will suddenly displace Suarez or Messi because they suit the tactical shape better.

Messi was a once in a lifetime talent who was already showing glimpses of outperforming prime Ronaldinho when he was 16 or 17 or whatever his age was in that Juventus Gamper game. Total exception. The only one in the entire Masia who might (big if) have a similar rise to stardom could be Lee but certainly none of Dongou, Deulofeu, Adama, Munir or Sandro. That can be said with certainty.

Next year front 3 : Neymar/Deulo -------- Messi/Rafinha ------------ Suarez/Adama. Pedro should be sold and Sandro&Munir loaned.

Deulofeu will probably never break into your team, not with the trio you have up front now.

I have a fear that people who love hyped youngsters will now use this excuse for years.
Deulo or Adama or xx player didn't make it because we had "too good" frontline. "It wasn't their fault..."

Ok, but these players aren't good enough for any Barca side from 2004 till today.
So, they aren't playing because we had too good forwards.
They aren't playing simply because they aren't good enough for Barca's attack. The best team in the world, or one out of 2-3 best teams in the world.

But then, only 5-10 players in the world out of 100 000 players are good enough for our attack.
But the biggest mistery is how people believe that each generation has 2-3 new "awesome" forwards who will actually turn into our starting 11 material.

I remember a post a few weeks ago when one user said that we currently have 6 world class young forwards who are a realistic potential for our starting 11.

Also, it is interesting to see, how now when Deulo, Rafinha and some other guys aren't developing as expected, people are already turning onto a new "the next big thing", like Adama, Lee etc.
So, these guys failed, but let's find some new guys and turn the attention, hype and romantic dreams towards them now, lol.

A crazy hype machine and people who are desperate and unrealistic about every new generation of our young players.

If Pedro plays for Barca then I dont see why Deulofeu would not?

That argument about 'too good front three' is definitely valid. To claim a spot ahead of Messi, Neymar and Suarez is barely possible.

What do you think people's expectations should be after the gems our academy have produced throughout the years?
