Gerard Deulofeu

I didn't mention them originally because this is a Deulofeu thread. Deulofeu's work rate is an issue.

You'd rather look like you're asserting Deulofeu is the cause of your defensive woes because it's a Deulofeu thread than actually discuss his workrate?

What a joke.

I didn't do anything of the sort. I said Lennon should be used as an example to strive for in terms of work rate and defending.

Everton lost again and Deulofeu didn't start.

Oh. So much for all those clean sheets.

Lucky looping header with their own chance. In fact it was probably the only time they were outside their own box the whole game. Frankly that game summed up our season in a nutshell.

The fans weren't booing Deulofeu. They were booing Lennon being taken off. They were actually singing the Deulofeu song before he was subbed on.

What the fans weren't happy about was the fact that even though West Brom played with 4 CBs and defended the width of their 18 yard box Martinez refused to play with two wingers. Frankly the fans are running out of patience with Martinez.

So is his terrible workrate an issue or is it not? Does his benching really contribute to your defense improving as you've stated here,

Since he's been dropped we also haven't conceeded a goal. Lennon's work rate is so much better and it will be up to Deulofeu to rise to that challenge when he gets the chance.

Here,

What I said was Lennon's workrate is better than Deulofeu's and yes that obviously plays a factor however small to our "defensive woes".

btw - 3 clean sheets in a row.

And here,

What has the amount of assists got to do with defensive frailties and you say you say people shouldn't take me seriously. You don't even understand the difference between attack and defend.

or is it down to numerous other factors that we had to pull teeth to get out of you?

I'm just trying to figure out if you're really serious when you say Deulofeu's benching is a factor when discussing your defending.

Lennon does work harder to defend than Deulofeu and plays more as a team player than him, would guess that has definitely been a factor and allows Coleman to get forward more.

Does that men they will keep clean sheet every time Lennon plays? Of course it doesnt.

More or less his strongest possible lineup, identical with their last league game I believe.

Is that so?

Perhaps it may be time Deulofeu looked for minutes elsewhere. With the low standard of most EPL teams nowadays (Leicester is in first place lol) it wouldn't be unfeasible for him to make a move up the table.

Yep.

At this point I don't care much what happens to Deulofeu. It'll take a miracle for him to have a future at Camp Nou as it is.
