Thiago Silva was great in his first season for Milan. He messed up a few times the first 2 games but since then he's been great. He's been much more solid than Nesta and is way more versatile. Silva is extremely fast, great in 1 vs 1, good at clearing and can dribble/pass very well. His positional awareness is pretty good but can improve. Nesta is very hot/cold these days and is often caught way out of position, making Silva look bad while he's trying to make up for it or cover.
Thiago Silva is definately my #1 defensive option to come to Barca considering he's only 25 or just turned 26. He's still young and would only improve at Barca.
