Pique is still class, defenders with play making abilities like his are hard to come by so all this talk of getting rid of him because a poor run off form is ridiculous to say the least. It's silly to pin all the lapses in concentration down to his personal life, he can still get it right if he just keeps focused and Pep hardens his stance towards him which he seems to be doing anyway.

He's shit for 1 1/2 years now. Not 3 weeks, so we can downplay it on "form". Last season it wasn't as obvious because Xavi and Iniesta infront of him were fit throughout the season and not giving away the ball and Villa and Pedro were pressing upfront like mad. When was he ever tested? Right, this season, without Xavi and Iniesta infront of him for large periods and a less effective pressing game upfront without Villa and Pedro. That's when you see the true quality of your defense, when they actually get tested. His lapses of concentration haven't started just now. Remember this?

Almost the same scenario in the CL final, except it didn't happen, what's your point? If you wanna post videos of mistakes why don't you do so for Puyol on the first Osasuna goal last week, or the leverkusen goal? You can't simply say a defender is 'shit' just because he makes a dumb mistake once in a while, you have to be objective and also look at his other contributions on the pitch and weigh that against his mistakes. Also, 'shit' is a very debatable word here, he's not been consistent but if you say he's been shit then (sorry to put it so bluntly) you definitely have something missing. He is a big match player, in almost every big game he turns up when called upon, especially clasicos. Thank god pep doesn't see it like some people here, he benched pique in the leverkusen game because of his shit recent form no doubt, he came out and gave a semi logical explanation as to why he dropped him for the squad which had some truth to it, but i'm sure we all know what pep's true intent was there, lets hope it works, pep showed he's not afraid to drop any player no matter how big he is. Pique just needs to get his shit together, he's a valuable player and on his day one of the best CBs in the world, especially for the barca system.

Puyol is 34 soon. I don't expect him to show any sort of consistency anymore. The fact that's he's still putting in the most effort in our whole squad makes him immune against any sort criticism. That one game against Osasuna (where Pique was at fault for all 3 goals by the way) won't change it because so far into the season, he's our best defender by a country mile. And that's actually worrying, because he's 34 soon.
Yeah, the next Clasico Mourinho puts 9 defenders on the pitch and we manage 80 % possession in their stadium, he'll be Piquenbauer again because he's sooo well carrying the ball forward.

It was no argument..Pep has only reminded to Gerard who's the boss..it's not the first time that Pique is being punished, but the press didn't found out the previous time because we weren't at 10 pts of RM. I really hope he will come to senses because he is a very talented defender and could be the best CB in the world if he would want to.
