On the one hand it's hard to really judge how much he actually had to do with today while on the other, where the hell has this been?...First time Barcelona have looked like Barcelona in a lonnnng time

He is still an amateur. Nothing will change that. Where the fuck was Bartra?! No excuse can make up for how bad he has treated him.

Tbh, Xavi Alba and Bartra were all left out. Wouldn't surprise me if he starts with at least 2/3 of those against City. With the performance of the midfield Cesc-Iniesta-Busquets I'd say he will pick Alba and Bartra out of those three.

I really want to believe he wanted the team to peak at the right time, which is the second half of the season. Unlike last year, where we totally fell apart when it really mattered (no energy, injuries,...) Hopefully the best is yet to come.

Yup, I've been banging on this drum the whole time. Plus, FCBarca, I don't think it's fair to judge him without our best players having a run of games together, considering he's got us top of the league despite so many important players being out for months, I'd say he's done a very good job.
Iniesta and Messi playing near their best, we'll see what this team has in store for us, starting from Tuesday.

And perhaps most importantly:

Messi, 24 goals, Pedro 17 goals, Sanchez 17 goals, Neymar 12 goals Fabregas 13 goals. When has that ever happened?
We have 3-4 players (and Iniesta) in the starting 11 that can decide a game at any moment. Over the past couple of years it has been only Messi for the most part.
That in itself is one huge relief going into any game, and credit must go to Tata for that.

I want to believe that but we've witnessed a lot of lackluster performances in between...that's not really the mark of an elite coach, to me...And was it down to tactics or the opponent not parking the bus?...I mean we don't face many Rayo's, tbh...They are Barcelona-lite anyway, we're playing a mirror side in some respects...Not trying to undermine the performance today because it still was a brilliant one, for me...I just haven't seen any version of this until now...That seems strange to me...Or is it like Balague suggested?...That the players pushed for this to be the approach rather than all those long balls, coupled with high pressing?

The tough competition, that's where a coach shows their quality...Let's see how he has them performing against City

It's absolutely linked, largely, to Leo & Iniesta...We missed the Don's quality in so many ways up until now...I feel his absence has been felt as much as Messi's

Messi, Cesc and Iniesta all reaching their best form of the season right now.

Considering how weak our squad is Tata has done a DAMN FINE job! On top of the league, in the Copa final and we're in the KO stages of the CL too. City will be a MASSIVE test but if we fail the blame should fall on the players imo. We have a crap defence and np physicality in midfield. This is Pep's and Tito's squad NOT Tata's. Give him time. If he can win ONE title in his first season even if its the COPA it will be a success. I want to see if Tata is given a free hand and allowed to buy the players he wants. Rijkaard, Pep were given the players they wanted. Tata should be too. All this talk about Tata being an amateur is stupid.

Perhaps you want Jordi Roura back?

Well, Rayo is a a relatively convenient opponent for Barca: They try to play a high line and press a lot, but failed miserably at it. Plus they are in a difficult situation and were nervous as hell, especially in the first half, which helped our pressing game.
That said, no one can measure how good this team really is and even when we get past City (which we will), many people will still remain unconvinced; mostly because Barca is still in a transition phase and will most likely remain in it till the season is over.

Yet, one can see many positives so far and despite the obvious structural flaws in the squad, the team seems ready to deliver.

BIG Credit to you!!!

I really enjoying his work! We can play possesion, direct tiki-taka, counter, long balls, etc..
Soo many dont trust him, but I have big hope in him.

keep it up!

+1 I'd wait until the end of the season at least until I give my verdict on how Tata has done but for now he has done a great job for me at least
