Gerardo "Tata" Martino

Ghostmaster

Danger Ahead
He was so emotional yesterday, you can see that he is under lot of pressure, I guess now the press would be quiet for while, Barca won so it's totally boring, nothing to write about.

Implement a better system, and better tactics. It's still far away from that. He has often tried a style he doesn't have the players to do it well. He's a good coach, but not for Barça. I know he has a limited squad, and the bench lacks variation and quality, though.

Tata has tried to bring something new to Barca. Just like any of us fans he was aware the Plan A was getting stale. He tried to bring a few tweaks and also rotated to avoid a repeat of last season. In a way I hope we get someone like De Boer or Lucho. This will shut all the stupid fan boys mouths. Under Tito we were great at punishing lesser teams but looked shit against the bigger teams. Real and Bayern owned us. That would happen again under someone like De Boer or Lucho.

He tried a system the current squad cannot play well. Sociedad game was a fiasco for a reason. What's really stupid is to assume beforehand that lucho or de boer would have the same results as Tito, while he was battling cancer.

I want him to stay. We're not Chelsea to change managers in a heart beat. I would give him the next season as well and let him bring new players if he can, though It looks impossible with this management.

4 midfielders seems to be his formation of choice and idk if it was his instructions but in the game yesterday it looked sort of like:

---------neymar--------
iniesta--------messi-------alves
-------------cesc----------------
----------busquets----xavi------

Neymar's movement looked like his brazil stuff, played kind of like a false winger (How pedro/muller usually play) with messi dropping deeper and effectively playing like an attacking midfielder. I was worried with the insistence of having 4 natural midfeilders playing because Cesc usually doesn't score as much when this happens but Tata seems to have worked it out properly with Alves providing the missing goal threat. Hopefully Neymar gets back on the scoresheet to round it off. This might be our best formation for tough teams that press us or try to win the midfield.

If we have no injuries and keep a settled 11 for the rest of the season we MIGHT just one trophy. I am not expecting anything more. With this squad its stupid to have unrealistic expectations. PSG, Bayern, Real all have better squads.

What happened to the successful changes he made in the first half of the season? Was it on totalbarca I read an article on the same topic? Anyways, I agrees with all of it, and I think we looked much better before the new year.

He would be great for Argentina. Great. But I still think we should give him another season. He did not do the pre-season with the team. He pretty much inherited Tito's Barca. That's an important thing.

PSG? Are you for real? Only Bayern and maybe Real would probably trump us, and not in terms of quality, but in terms of form. If we build on that City second leg performance though, we have a shot at the Champions League.

Knock out stages have a story of their own. The strongest teams don't always progress. We have seen it numerous times. Look at how Chelsea made their way into winning it. There come a lot of surprises in these type of matches. I say PSG has enough quality to beat Real. Even beating Barca.

They can beat us, sure, but that doesn't mean they have a better squad than ours. We're favourites against them. They are perfectly capable to win against anyone, but not good enough to go down as a favourite over Bayern, Madrid or us.

PSG have enough quality to win the whole thing. They've become underrated among fans and experts. Currently playing some of the best football in Europe.

Barca PSG is 50/50. There are no favorites.

3-3 last time and that was an inferior PSG team.
