Gerardo "Tata" Martino

Cesc is OK. The only problem I have with him is that he is a lot slower now than he ever was at Arsenal. And the difference is drastic. He moves like he is 36, not 26. Other than that, he is fine.

i might be wrong but i would add a horrible first touch, indecisiveness and cracking under pressure to the list of his minuses.

I wish I knew why he insists with cesc. He's not covering for xavi, he's getting in everyone's way. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta... having a subpar cb pairing is not helping either, but cesc is his biggest mistake this match.
And I doubt he'll make a sub at half time.

you can see atleti's shape changes every portion in the game. couldn't see nothing from tata's side. just black shirts running about

Playing Cesc is not his only mistake, his tactics are screwed up and he has no counter measure to Atlético's intensity... this match should be in every textbook about football coaching because it is a perfect example of how to outsmart your coaching counterpart.

He's not good enough. But all of this is not exactly his fault. He inherited a team missing players, clinging to past results...
No cb's for so long, no xavi's replacement, no improvement... But he also is not the best tactician or motivator. I hope he leaves.

I've been patient with him so far, I haven't always expressed how I felt when we lost one game after the other or played extremely poorly because I still had a little bit of faith in him but right now, the only thing he can do that will satisfy me is get the hell out of Barcelona. I don't know if he crumbles under pressure or if he just doesn't have a clue about football (I suspect the latter), but this is clearly not working. We looked better with Roura as coach than with him.

I agree that he inherited a squad that clearly needs to be revamped but the point is that even with the current crop of players, it should be possible to win the treble with a great coach, which he clearly isn't.

So , I'm wondering again , what has this guy done to deserve to be the coach of the club that won 14 trophies in 4 years ?

GTFO of the team man , this club deserves better.

He's been fairly successful so far and I'm fond of him, but a few games (like these quarter finals) can really say a lot (or should I say, enough) about a manager. He proved twice that he doesn't know how to set up the game and that's enough...
