Xavi was first to bitch about direct football. Just look first half season possession stats. We won 3:0 but opponent had more possession and that was final nail in the coffin. Suddenly Nerman saga breaks lose and we are back to playing sideways. At one point we were best team in Europe when it came to counter attacks. Not to mention our 3 forwards were truly scoring and enjoying. Now they all bass back to Messi.

It was 4-0 against Rayo when we conceded possession and shit started going down hill from there on

I enjoyed counterattacking football so much, I thought finally we have a manager who understands that Messi and Neymar are lethal in counterattacks and we can win everything with this kind of football and suddenly everything stopped and they started moving the ball around like they used to :(

People still say Tata is tactically inept despite the team GOATing through the first half of the season then shit started to hit the fan during Christmas and we were back to Tiki-Tito instead of Tiki-Tata

Remember Pedros hattrick against Getafe?
Remember Tellos hattrick against Levante?
Remember Nerman hattrick against Celctis?
Remember Alexis hattrick against Elche?

Go watch highlights if you dont and you'll see how deadly Barca forwards are if they have space. But now we pass sideways in front of opponent goal and our forwards have to find gap between 3 or 5 defenders. It doesn't work. Even Messi can't penetrate himself thru that gap.
At first we played like Tata wanted and now we play like our board/Xavi wants to. We all saw the results. Giving out 97 passes without any errors is impressive but if only 1 of them is forward pass then it's quit sad tbh. Xavi says he hates to lose yet he refuses to adapt with new manager or system. He is the core of the team and ofc players will follow him. What can manager to? Nothing cause board and fans give him no support what so ever.

If next manager doesn't get support he needs we are back in same situation. First we play like gods and then players decide they want to pass ball around till FT. Worst part? They know nobody in this world will bench them if they play badly.

Barcelona "B" players in first team under Gerardo Martino

Jean Marie Dongou 32mins (7 vs Levante, 11 vs Celtic, 14 vs Cartagena).
Adama Traoré 17mins (9 vs Ajax, 8 vs Granada)
Patric Gabarrón 23mins (vs Ajax)

That's 72mins in total for the "B" players :shakeshead:

Good point, it started a bit promising I think, and then he just gave up on them. Maybe he knew he was done already in november or something, and didnt care.

If I'm not mistaken, that chart is misleading. In previous seasons some players played for the first team exclusively, while not having a first team contract and therefore still being registered as B team players. In contrast, as far as playing time goes, Sergi Roberto is now in the same position as Tello or Cuenca were in 2011/2012 (for example), but they registered him to the first team and ended his B team career when Thiago left.

No, Sergi was automatically promoted, as deulo and rafinha. It was on his contract.

Oh, my bad.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was that some players in the previous seasons racked up many minutes and spent most of their time with the first team while still officially being B team players, I think that's why the chart is to extreme.
