Gerardo "Tata" Martino

It is a younger b team than normal with the players in it who you would expect to push on to the first team largely in their first year.

Also there was not a dead CL game to hand youngsters a start in.

In past seasons the likes of Rafinha and Deuolfeu would most likely have seen minutes but younger players are not wanting to sit about in b team for 3/4 years and get token minutes against poorer teams.

And people bitched about Tito not giving opportunities to young players last season and now its 10 times worse.

Not really. Tata has been far better in that regard. It's just that for some reason people saw Bartra as a youngster last year, and don't perceive him as one now, because of his new contract or for whatever reason. He's the same guy. And even though I would have liked Bartra to get more minutes on merit this season, I'll still admit that Tata was better than Tito at giving Bartra/others minutes just for rotation's sake (before the business end of the season started). The moment when he decided "OK, no more rotations, from now on we always play my preferred lineup" is pretty clear. At some point earlier in the season, we even wondered whether Tata likes Bartra or Mascherano better, but we soon found out.

Remember: last season, Bartra had less than 80 minutes total up until the point when he started his spell of games in March/April.

Zubizarreta (director): "Valverde could replace Martino? Athletic is a wonderful club. I respect them a lot, I won't talk about their coach"

 pretty much no one is denying Tata's impending exit except Bartomeu it seems (who is a pathological liar). Xavi and Zubi have both selectively steered away from saying anything in denial of Martino's intention to leave.

Yup definitely. This was a kind of transition season for Tata, the man had no pre-season and had alot of shit in the squad to deal with due to injuries. He now knows how to do his job better and seeing as Lucho, AVB or Rudi Garcia might be candidates for next coach I gladly stick with Tata. Let him buy his players and implement his style like Pep was given in Bayern and I believe he can do wonders with Barca

Pretty much yeah. Most of the managers who are being mentioned as replacements - I don't even see them as an upgrade to Martino. I'd even say it's quite the opposite.

Remember Pedros hattrick against Getafe?
Remember Tellos hattrick against Levante?
Remember Nerman hattrick against Celctis?
Remember Alexis hattrick against Elche?

Go watch highlights if you dont and you'll see how deadly Barca forwards are if they have space. But now we pass sideways in front of opponent goal and our forwards have to find gap between 3 or 5 defenders. It doesn't work. Even Messi can't penetrate himself thru that gap.
At first we played like Tata wanted and now we play like our board/Xavi wants to. We all saw the results. Giving out 97 passes without any errors is impressive but if only 1 of them is forward pass then it's quit sad tbh. Xavi says he hates to lose yet he refuses to adapt with new manager or system. He is the core of the team and ofc players will follow him. What can manager to? Nothing cause board and fans give him no support what so ever.

If next manager doesn't get support he needs we are back in same situation. First we play like gods and then players decide they want to pass ball around till FT. Worst part? They know nobody in this world will bench them if they play badly.

I'm glad that people get it. Good to see some support for Tata. Xavi should shut up and become a manager if he wants too. He can start with the kiddie teams.

Can anyone please explain what the f. Zubi is doing? He is actually saying that the board wants tata to continue for another year. Martino has introduced the most contraintuitive philosophy in the world - crosses to messi, no pressure, players who dont give a shit, he is obviously saying yes to what the big stars tell him. And how is it possible to start cesc 8 matches in a row when he is so totally out of it. The rotation, our playing style, the results....the list goes on

Tata is the worst manager in the history of Barca. Zubi is the worst board member. They should be fired at this very moment.

With new manager team will have roughly 1 month before season (La Liga) starts. By the time team starts to click together we will be already out from all competitions assuming he brings anything new to the table.

Year has passed and his learned a lot about European football. If board wants to keep him cause his a great muppet then nothing will change. But if board wants to win titles they should fully back him and his decisions.

The team needs a fresh start. I doubt Tata will stay, and I really hope he doesn't. He lost the dressing room, that much is clear. It doesn't matter what the players say. Barça needs a coach who will be able to deal with Xavi too, to bench him when needed, and who will show him he's still a player, not an assistant coach.

No we need a board who would support the coach's decision to bench Xavi without shit hitting the fan
