Gini Wijnaldum

It's not even about rebuilding but having a functional squad at all. And I really wonder how some people envision the rebuild, 11-15 worldclass mid 20's in their prime? It's closer to 4-5 of those guys and making up the numbers with talents+quality squad players (like Wijnaldum...).

Given Wijnaldum doens't fall off a cliff like Arda, Pjanic...

nah mate, all the free shite we can get. that's a proper rebuild. when did we do that before?

All of them will improve the squad and where Barca are at their is not the money to do much more unless players are sold.

Easy to say all shite and not point to what alternative is.

You keep saying it is just because these players are free and Barca scouring free market for any player but Depay, Garcia and Wijnaldum the club were after last summer.

"We don't have money so might as well sign declining players for little money"
The same argument used for Pjanic

Pjanic was 60m euro on our books with a hefty wage to boot, not exactly the same now is it?

Anyway, we must get rid of half the team and we have no money. What should we do in your opinion? Are there better alternatives in our budget out there? Should we go into the next season with the same team? Or the same team minus 5/6 players? What other avenues are there for us to at least fight for La Liga and CdR?

Look, I'm not too thrilled about these players either but for 2-3 years this is our reality, at least until we manage to get out of this financial mess. Aguero is supposed to sign for 2 years, Gini 3, Depay probably 4 since he is younger. Those are not gonna weigh us down in the future if the money and better players will become available.

I too want players that will improve our first 11 instantly but with no money what choice do we have?

(SKY): Tomorrow, 100% Vinaldum will join Barcelona and the feeling is a 3-year contract. Wijnaldum decided to move to Barcelona and decided to reduce his salary, his arrival does not depend on Koeman's future

It will be official soon.

Welcome to Barcelona.
At last we get a player who has physicality and experience. I expect him to do well here whether as a starter or rotation option.

Kinda glad Bayern dodged that one. He's not a terrible player, but I feel he gets in the way of signings with more potential that'd make more sense.

Don’t think he’d get the minutes he’d like either. More likely to feature more in Barca’s midfield.

I am very happy about this signing honestly, and I do not think he will take Busquets spot. If you think about it, having Busquets as a DM with both De Jong and Wijnaldum as workhorse CMs is absolutely refreshing .. add to that a trio of Griez/Fati - Messi - Aguero/Pedri

Saw a "welcome to Barcelona" video with this 30yo midfielder but failed to see even one impressive sequence.
It was just him roaming around the centre of the pitch and sniffing up loose balls, diving into them and 50/50 finding a teammate or an opponent. Often times he relied much on team mates to win the ball after he sold him self in the press. A lot of clips of him jumping and heading too, same story there with the 50/50 teammate v opponent.

Reminds me a bit of what Xavi said about english players being cheered for kicking the ball up the stairs - with Wijnaldum he at least tries sometimes to play the ball very safely to a team mate, but in Barcelona I would expect a bit more out of a midfielder...

Who does Bayern have in mind? Neuhaus? Camavinga? Does Bayern have the money though?
