As someone else said it's not the exception when we have 1 in 6 wins lately. I didn't think we were good enough today. Simple as that. Maybe a draw would have been fair (hardly a better result).

I think we were better than in previous games when we dropped points. Which doesn't say much ofc when the result is the same.

And if we wouldn't drop as many points before I would take this loss easier as @serghei said. Especially with Madrid also not winning their game.

I also think we shouldn't focus only on Madrid but also on Atleti who will have a chance to get 6 points clear if they win next week and then their game in hand. All that after most people already write them off two months ago when they were like 8 if not 10 points behind us.

Yes, recent history vs Atleti is on our side and for all we know we could play the best game of the season and thrash them 4-0 but given current form of both teams and possibility of being without Yamal third consecutive home loss is not that unlikely. And we are truly fecked if that happens.

Can only hope Simeone will play for a draw and not go for the blood as we are as vulnerable as possible at this point. So much that I would take a boring draw and then try to reset over New Year.

Gonna give some slack to Flick this season in the league. I see enough positives to excuse a bad league season and give him another season. But let's not get carried away, he has a lot to learn about Spanish football. He is gonna improve as a manager if he is not stubborn as hell.

If he doesn't do it this season in the league, he has to do it the next, make no mistake about it. CL can be a game changer if he gets a title obviously.

Some improvements I'd like to see is:

- respect smaller sides more, and this is tied to getting used to the mini-rivalries of the league, especially the fierce fighting spirit of some notoriously proud regional teams vs Madrid/Barcelona (those are amped up in Spain compared to other leagues).

- assume that you're gonna face different teams playing different styles from round to round. Some teams are bad at the back but press nicely up front, other can defend deep effectively. Almost all teams have technical players in attack that can punish fuck-ups.

- learn to appreciate the difficulty of having leads in some games. They don't come easily. Like vs Celta on Balaidos. This is very rare for us to lead there 2-0, if you are familiar with Celta - Barca duels there you'd know this. Don't naively trash the lead into the bin by thinking you can score more and more. Same as Betis.

- end to end risky football is nice if you have very strong defenders in 1 vs 1 that make very little errors. Barca doesn't have that.

One more improvement that is a must is rotate when you have the chance, it doesn't matter if you field your best 11 if they cant perform as today. Raphina for instance didn't look like himself at all.

For this match they should have started Pablo Torre. This season when he's come on he's made things happen. Whether it's a good pass or a deflated shot,we score when he plays.

Xavi: 11 wins, 5 draws 2 defeats. 38 points. 34 goals scored, 21 conceded.
Flick: 12 wins, 2 draws, 4 defeats. 38 points. 50 goals scored, 20 conceded.

all same, apart from some 15 goals more for Flick

that reflects the higher level of football this season

Teams are comparable, you are arguing for nothing really. Xavi got the most out of bums like Dumbele. No other manager got him to play consistent football like Xavi did. Xavi got some old but quality Amigos (mostly Busi), Flick gets more mature youngsters, more adapted raphinha, and so on.

Dembele is performing the same if not better at PSG, and with 0 injuries so far

Next dump take?

Away

Madrid
Atleti
PSG

Just choose 3 hard away games could give you more, whole bunch in his first half season alone.

2 good months in 21/22 season (Feb - March '22) was all good football Xavi ever managed

That's when we had good wins against Atleti (4-2) and Madrid (4-0).

All the rest you mention was all dull or lucky 1-0s

The PSG game was an outlier, we were better, the football was not something great THO

The funny thing is 2 good months so far is all flick has achieved lol or is 3.

He has a winning record against Madrid and A.M, and had more clear chances in the two legs vs PSG, no stats can change that fact.

flick at this point of the season, is exactly matching Xavi's worse season he had at the club in his 2.5 years here.

All while making history in losses against Las Palmas and leganes at home.

All the beating around the bush doesn't change that.

He needs to get his shit together he's in a tactically superior league or this will be another coach you backed that turns out to be a bum.

And I really want him to, because I have no agenda's against him, I just want my club to win,no matter who the manager.

3 DEFEATS, 2 draws, only 1 win in the last 6 games for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

Flick its time to retire.

We need someone who knows the club, and the league.
Not some fraudulent CUP MANAGER aka HANSI FLICK
