Valverde did and does good job with Bilbao. Was probably just a lousy motivator and that's what lacked the most here (as Rakitic admitted).
Bilbao are self-motivated crazies so that's a different story.

Hard disagree

Messi knows ball and he’s done nothing but praise Valverde and accepted full responsibility from the players for the UCL embarrassment

Bro I’m curious, how when it’s Valverde you’re the first guy to defend him and blame it on the players. But when it’s Flick or Xavi, you automatically blame it on the manager. Don’t you think that’s a clear lack of consistency in your logic

Club de Amigos ruled by MEssi and his buddies was a certain culture that distroyed and corrupted the team
Valverde was the facilitator of this culture.
The yes man they were looking for (they got one with Tata for only a season before) for years, but had to deal with Pep or Lucho, who would always impose their authority on the spoiled entitled primadonas

Exactly, Valverde, Bartomeu And Rosell are the 3 henchmen responsible for obliterating Barcelona’s image in all fields within 7 years of Pep leaving. It’s truly depressing we had a legacy to create but it all went in vain and empire that lasted way too short. It’s a pity

Lucho didn't impose on his will on anyone worth anything at Barca.

He tried that shit with Totti first, had to eat humble pie and repaired that relationship in the end but left anyway after one season. Then tried it again with Messi and was almost sent packing lol.

Even the tactical change to move Suarez from the RW to ST was something Messi did for him as he insisted on playing Suarez out wide.

I don't know how his relationship with Mbappe was in Paris.

Point is....he's a disciplinarian for sure, but when he's tried it with the bigger players he's fallen flat on his face more often than not. Even Pep knew he had to treat players differently even if he held everyone to the same standard. Lucho trying to act like a hardman with everyone isn't smart.

Ehhh I’ll give him some credit for this

Messi was a false 9 for a long time since Zlatan was pushed wide, even David Villa had to accomodate him.

Most pundits predicted Suarez would also have to play out wide to accomodate Messi

So I’ll give Lucho some credit for this move

He didn't eat any 'humble pie' what are you on?

His switch of Suarez to ST was all due to him, not to Messi who had been accustomed to the false 9 role and didn't wanna change

He made it clear since day 1 'I am the leader of this team' and that did not seat well with the primadonas that had already started since 2011 2012 or so to feel bigger than what they really were

When Messi tried to test his limits he saw the bench, like everyone else in Lucho's career.
Xavi intervened to repair the relation, and not as you imply
In the end the repair worked for everyone, but it was clear who has the upper hand...

Messi managed to had it his way only with his yesman Tata, and after that with Valverde

Messi did tell Suarez to switch position during a game.

Messi also said that Guardiola and Lucho were the best Barca coaches that he worked with.

Messi switched answers a lot, there were times when he said Rijkaard instead of Pep, others he say Lucho and Pep etc.
He always praised all 4 coaches, Rijkaard, Pep, Lucho and EV.

Don't remember him saying that Rijkaard and EV were the best Barca coaches.

Rijkaard probably the most important since he gave him the debut, but nothing about the best.
