Hatem Ben Arfa

I view this as a rather low risk signing if it does happen.

He's been doing well this season for Nice and his problems in the EPL didn't really stem from his talent it had to do with his "attitude" issues. if he's willing to come here and sit on the bench and willing to leave any diva or other problems he has behind then I welcome him.

I mean he's free and for someone that has been doing well recently who wouldn't take a gamble on him?

I'd take him for free, low wages and 3-4 years contract.

If he's sorted out his attitude issues then he'll be a good short-term depth option while the likes of Munir are loaned out(and properly developing hopefully) and we're targeting younger players to join us in 2-3 years.

And if he continues on the same path as in Newcastle, then perhaps we could cash in a couple of millions on him in a year anyway? Profit.

While we're at it, if Halilovic is indeed getting sold to Valencia, and we're not interested in Mustafi then perhaps we could sort out a reasonable deal for Paco Alcacer if he's willing to join?

With all due respect. Ben Arfa looks like he got his shit together. He could now try to pursue the career he was destined to have OR he could go to Barca, where he is gonna earn a fuckton of money, win a fuckton of trophies and play hardly a single minute for all of it. It would basically be taking the easy way out in a time where everyone thought that he finally broke the ice, rather lately with 29 years of age, but still enough time to become a great footballer and have a shot at the nationalteam. Moving to Barca would basically kill his career in the favour of having a fancy house at the beachside.

He's 29 as you said. He doesn't have many years left so would you blame him for going to a team where he could win something big?

Ben Arfa if fit and professional will likely get a fair share of minutes as it would mean that we're finally able to rest our starters and count on him, so it's not like he'll warm the bench 24/7. He'll get the chance to contribute and win every trophy there is, as well as play with someone like Messi.

The fancy house at the beachside is a plus of course, but this late in his career, this might be his last chance to get the medals he doesn't have.

plus imagine on form Ben Arfa with Messi, the opposition defense will have nightmare of dem dribbles

He does have quite some years left actually, he has never beena s good as he is now. He could still play football for around 4-6 years and he's good enough for an average CL side now in which he'd undoubtly start if he keeps it up. If that works out he even still has time to upgrade once more and play some years, the guy is far from over and I hope he loves the sport enough to realize that.

There is no way Adriano is on more than Modric.

Other sources have Modric on twice as much as him and on same as Isco.

OK, two questions. His position doesnt exist in our team. He has never played in Suarez position as a sole striker up front. He plays in the hole. Major problem. How do we fix that?

No.2: Will he be able to function in a team that doesnt solely structure their system around him and his abilities like Nice do? Its too simple to just say that it was just a little attitude problem in the past and it is now probably fixed so its all good.

His wages hopefully will not be much higher than in Nice and no more than 3 years (even that is generous).

He should be happy such a club is willing to take a gamble on him.

Barca need another wide player that can stretch teams. Even when MSN are all still on park.

Against Valencia at home Raki virtually played as an attacking RM as Messi went central. He coulnt play that role and was too easy to stop.

It was crying out for a wide player to come on and stretch the RW and free up more space for MSN and stretch Valencia defence who just sat narrow and left Raki open on right.

A player like Ben Arfa would give option of Messi in AM and a front three strectching the opposition and giving Messi more room and options.

With two of Raki/Busi/Iniesta behind Messi or supporting him.

Not saying whole sale change to tactics but options as many of the games Messi went central teams sat narrow and had nothing to defend on right side.

OK, but isnt the whole point to bring in someone for Suarez? We have options on the wings, like Denis, Roberto, Vidal and others (Rafinha used to play there), but not as sub for Suarez.

Ben Arfa plays in the middle behind the strikers, but perhaps he can function in the role he was used in at Newcastle now, perhaps.

Dont think the point is to bring in someone to replace Suarez and none of the players mentioned are as good on the wing as Ben Arfa. Not even close I would say.

Messi and Ney can play through middle if needed when Suarez out/rested. Maybe Ben Arfa could as he is decent with back to goal and a good finisher.

You're really running with this Newcastle flop shtick, huh? It was never his skill that let him down back then, solely a rotten mentality. People mature, and hopefully he has too, if Lucho actually wants him.

I've only said it once, mate. If that's what you call "Running with it" then for all I care, go nuts.

He's had a mediocre career at best whether it's for mental issues or not, and at 29 we'll only have another Arda Turan situation on our hands if (Probably not if, but when) he starts playing for us and the entire world realizes he's nowhere near ready to play for us.
