Eating my words here. Was not a bad signing imo but at the time would have preferred Kroos.

In the end now in the busy part of the season, Kroos feels like dead weight to me, while Rakitic is getting better and better.

I'll admit, I'm the last one. Had some hopes, but were very weak. Nice to see him so confident, but I hope he will continue on that level.

I couldn't predicted Iniesta's bad form, but I knew that Rakitic will be an absolute starter for Barça, and he still hasn't show 50% of what he is capable of, wait until the next season to see the true Raki.

Rakitić will never be at the level of Iniesta and Xavi at their prime, but he's clearly better than both of them right now. He looks to me as Keita but a little bit more talented and creative.

We're in 2015 though and Xavi is 35 and Iniesta plays like he's retiring next week.

Looked like he played a different role today.

Rather than being on the right of a midfield three he was more like an AM and about the only player that was given license to help the front three.

It was only really Rakitic and the front three and the rest were quite defensive and told to clear the ball early wide and take no real risks.

Not the greatest tactics to control the game but got the job done and Rakitic seemed to revel in the space between the high attack and deeper defensive players.

It's not his fault. Kroos has been playing non-stop for almost 20 months now. He just has been strained too much. Ancelotti is the one to blame.

Name someone who can be at the same level with those 2. You are basically saying that an apple isn't an orange or a banana. He really is a different kind of player. More keitaish like you said.

Dont know why everyone suddenly thinks Kroos is in poor form. He is not, he has his weaknesses, but he is no worse than anyone else on the field. I would not leave him out of the start 11 in most matches, he is great.
