Yes, I was just looking on FCB site for this... can't find it.

I found tihs on EMD and it is a bit in contrast with Bartomeu.

In the press conference prior to the Copa del Rey match against Hercules at the Camp Nou, the azulgrana coach Luis Enrique Martínez has analyzed several current issues, among others, the situation of Ivan Rakitic: "I have nothing to say about Rakitic . I am delighted with his performance and attitude, the one who makes the decisions is me and I will continue to take them depending on what I consider the best for the team. I do not have to justify myself. "

"Ivan Rakitic does not understand the behavior and treatment that enjoys at Barcelona coach Luis Enrique. Croat was sworn professional and disciplined worker of the problem of the public will not breathe a word, but will train harder than ever. However, those who had seen him before and after the match Espanyol Barcelona in the locker claim that he was badly hurt and angry, "the famous Spanish journalist Francesc Aguilar Mundo Deportivo analyzing a situation in which in recent weeks is Ivan Rakitic.

Enrique was "cemented" to the bench, and two clubs from Manchester were immediately reacted. United and City last summer were interested in Rakitic, but he turned it down, believing that his future is linked to Barcelona. Today it is no longer safe and Croat is ready to leave the club, according to the Spaniards.

I think this ready to "leave the club" stuff cannot be in regards of siting out some games i mean cmon this is a contract issue it just has to be.
He has been pushing for a renewal since the begining of the season and nothing hapened.

Rakitic's relation with L.Enrique grew strained following player's suggestion that he'd like to play under City coach Guardiola. [don balon]

Did Rakitic actually say something along the lines of that?

I can see how this could potentially piss off Lucho. I can also see how that could piss off the board if it was used to get a pay increase.

Either way, it's quite interesting. If we do sell him, we're getting a massive fee for him.

I don't ever recall Rakitic remotely saying anything like that.

and it's Don Balon which is about Daily Star/Sun level in reliability and if Rakitic said anything in regards to pep it was probably completely twisted out of context to generate clicks.

If this is close to truth:
Madrid press claim we don't have cash for Srna even.

Then we need to sell some players to get some cash.
We can't/won't sell MSN, Iniesta, Busi or new players like Denis and Gomes.

The only players whom we can sell are: old Arda, poor Vidal, poor Paco, old Masch and...
= Rakitic

We can earn some nice cash, and yet he is somewhat replaceable with Gomes, Denis and Rafinha.

I think that this whole Rakitic-saga is not just a pure coincidence.

(There is a chance that we currently don't have money at all for renewals of any players, plus we don't have any money for new players.
It comes from Madrid's press, but if new MSN wages are as high as some claim, those papers could be very close to truth.)

I am sure 90% of this press garbage is false. He will regain his form and than everything will return back to normal. Amplitudes in form are normal and there is no chance we have no cash for wages. This is usual Madrid bullshit. If this was the case it would make much more sense to get rid of Arda than Rakitic.

For me this is the most important quote from Lucho:

"I will make decisions which are the best for him and for the team. Rakitic has been, is and will be an important player for this Barca.”

Didn't the press claim we don't have money for last summer signings and we still managed to be one of the biggest spenders who isn't located in Manchester?

Sorry folks, I don't buy the financial strain theory. The only way I see this being a financial issue is if Rakitic and his agent are demanding crazy money for a new contract.

Rakitic was Lucho's most used player in the past two seasons. Do you really think that Lucho and board would agree to spend nearly 40m on Gomes with the intention of getting rid of Rakitic who is a completely established player here?

Too much risk in that financially and sporting-wise to bank it all on Gomes and push Rakitic out. If money were a big issue, I don't think we would have signed Gomes in the first place.

I cannot see this being financial, unless it's contract negotiation issues. It's probably a technical or disciplinary issue.

So far Gomes is not worth it to ship Rakitic off, but we'll wait. Personally I would want Raki to stay for two more seasons, he gives us a lot.

No doubt our best midfield right now would be Iniesta, Busi and Rakitic

Not really. The fact is as long Iniesta is on the pitch it works no matter who the other 2 are, without him its disaster.

D.Suarez fits the Barca "MF" type more as he is a short guy who can handle the ball in tight spaces under presure, thats something Rakitic was never good at (partially due to his height).

If the right MF is going to keep walking the right sideline then Suarez is a better option. If the RMF was to be allowed the things LMF is then it would be another story.
