Here in Italy I read that Rakitic is almost sure a next player of Inter.

Anyway the most important thing is that he continue to play in this way until the end of the season.

Is not market time now.

Exactly sell if right (we have another vet rotation player like rabiot or herrera on a free, make a lot of $ to invest elsewhere w/o too much hit now in quality/experience). But if not keep him next year.

Either way not something to be concerned with until the season is over.

We shouldn't worry, he'll most definitely return to his mediocre self now that his specialty El Clásico is out of they way.

Even if this happens his disembowelment of Real's season (i think what happened today is a lot a result of the effect of our matches on their bodies and mental fight the past 6 days) was well worth this year.

Sevilla matches were key too, to further have distance in league and to advance so real had to play us in cdr.

Anything now is gravy, but i do expect him to play solid in the cl if properly rested.

People need to cool down. Rakitic had a great first half in El Clasico (his second half was nothing special). But he's been bad frequently since 2016. We should sell him no doubt. One great Clasico half doesn't change that. The Arizona dude talking about Sevilla games... Well first thing: his Sevilla performances weren't as good as his first half against RM. Second thing: the fact that you constantly need to mention those Sevilla games show how average he became. His good games are so rare these days that as soon as he gets one, his fans will remind it to you every time.

As I already said after El Clasico: this RM side is very very weak. Even 21 yo kid FDJ had a masterclass against them. And I enjoyed watching Frenkie dominate RM midfield.

Truth is: kids like FDJ and Arthur are already outperforming Rakitic this season. Next season these kids will get better while Rakitic will get worse probably.

I'd keep Ivan if we knew that he could perform like in El Clasico, on a weekly basis. But we know Rakitic can't do that. Past 3 years showed just that. I'd keep him if he'd accept a squad/bench player role, but he won't. And Valverde won't bench him even if he gets outperformed by Arthur FDJ Alena and Puig. Valverde obeys the senior players and only cares about senior players being happy with him.

Another important factor: it's not a great business to have a bench player with €9m/year wages. That applies to Vidal too.

We should sell Rakitic. He's not elite midfielder and he's old. And one very good performance every 2 months doesn't change that.

Great half from Rakitic. His best 45mins this season imo. This was 2015 Rakitic. Even better than his game vs Sevilla in the 6-1 win.

And actually I don't give a fuck about his goal (which was well done btw), I don't rate midfielders on goals they score. He made several froward passes, made very good forward runs and defensively played a big role in reducing RM's left flank activity.

Too bad he won't perform like this regularly. Too bad he performs like this 3 times per year. Because if this was routine Rakitic, I'd keep him.

You may have not seen it but then STFU and don't claim false stuff. I came to the forum that day simply to say that I really enjoyed his first half, which was world class indeed. His second half wasn't world class. Funny how you did notice it in FDJ's yesterday game but you don't apply the same methods for Rakitic.

I call a great game when I see one. Clasico was one. That was also only his second or third at most great game this season.
