yeah,since de jong is arriving there should be no doubt who should occupy midfield place. unfortunately,valverde is staying so i expect rakitić will stay too

It's going to be between him and Vidal+Coutinho if we need to sell CM players.

Can't see the club considering getting rid of Busi. Even if he's a becoming more and more of a liability, he's too much of a Sacred Goose due to his achievements and him being a Local boy as well. Rakitic other hand is far more expendable in the club's eyes.

And rightly so. Rakitic shares the same physical faults as Busquets while offering none of the composure or control. Nor, when he plays dm, does he provide even the limited protection Busquets these days offers. No contest. Goodbye Rakitic, thanks for the service but have some pride/self awareness ffs, and admit you're not good enough any more. (imo never. But at least for a while he served a purpose. Now he has none and is just an incredibly limited aging mid.)

Rakitic can score (most goals by our midfielders most years--not lot but still helps) and is way better in set pieces (w and wo the ball). Just 2 clear areas big advantage rakitic, overall i think they are net equivalent in impact in my opinion, also what the data shows.

The game started with a misplaced Roberto pass just outside our box and ended with a misplaced pass from Rakitic just outside our box ..
Both players under 70% successful pass rate ..
Just not good enough .. sorry
