I dont get players like him. Just fucking move on. Rakitic and suarez should both back their fucking bags and leave. Their time is over, rather leave in a good fashion then being thrown out. He should have left last season and we will have thought of him as a great player. Now everyone hates him, wants him gone and that will be his legacy here.
If everything what is going on at the club right now occurred back in the summer of 2008 (similar situation in many ways expect for that "little" detail of the club not being run by a clueless anti-Cruyff board) and Pep (or a similarly strong-minded manager with clear ideas) was our manager, players like Rakitic, Suárez and probably one of either Busquets or Piqué would have been shown the door like it occurred with Ronaldinho, Deco, Edmilson, Zambrotta etc.
Instead we have an utterly gutless and clueless board with no sporting project in place (for years), a useless (by large) manager with zero authority (not even the power to make his own signings as seen in the past 2 years) and basically a yes-man with a small-team mentality (hence our frequently employed cowardly "tactic" in many top games home and abroad in Europe - CL) all while the seniors (club de amigos) are running the club from within and DECIDING whether said gutless and yes-man manager will stay or not. All it took for Valverde to stay after another unforgivable disaster in Europe, was for the vacas sagradas to publicly state how "great" a manager Valverde is and how much they want him to stay!
Which is hardly shocking as those same seniors would be thrown out of the door by EVERY manager with some authority and power behind him (backing by the board) or with a name.
Imagine such a situation with the likes of Pep, Klopp, Pochettino, Van Gaal or the late Cruyff etc. Would never have occurred.
As usual this club is very good at shooting itself in the foot even when blessed with almost everything and despite being the most successful club in the past 30 years based on trophies, playing style, legacy, players/legends at the club in the same time period etc.
It seems that the club simply has to have periods where it is run down by the likes of Gaspart, Bartomeu or the late tenure of Núñez.
Ironically a common theme that goes again and again in all of those times of hardship (irrespective of time period and board in place) is successive boards putting the Cruyff sporting model aside (refusing to implement it) and not doing what made this club great, successful and greatly admired.
