He probably spends his evenings staying under a self made toilet seat while inviting Valverde over to sit on it.

Absolutelly disgusting and shameful.

If he doesn't leave this summer, I'd imagine this could be his final season here.

He would only have one more season left on his contract, would 32 years old and no signs of renewal in sight. The club will probably just sell him for peanuts at that point.

The club leaked to the press we've been trying to sell him since January, the board also leaked there will never be an improved contract also. The signs are all there. Even Rakitic knows this is his last season here, mostly because of our below mid-table coach Valverde, or else, after the rubbish season he's had, he'd be a goner by now already.

I wonder what his reaction will be if/when he finds himself on the bench again, since he's so adamant his place is occupied and his only. Lucho benched him for Gomes, now we have much better options.

Lucho benched him Gomes, then changed his mind and again made Rakitic his most used midfielder in every single season.
Yeah, Lucho really hated Raki...

2014/15:
Rakitic 51 matches
Busi 47 matches
Iniesta 42 matches

2015/16:
Rakitic 57 matches
Busi 53 matches
Iniesta 44 matches

2016/17:
Rakitic 51 matches
Busi 48 matches
Gomes 47 matches
Iniesta 37 matches

Under EV:
2017/18:
Rakitic 55 matches
Busi 50 matches
Iniesta 44 matches
Paulinho 34 matches
Gomes 31 matches

2018/19:
Rakitic 54 matches
Busi 54 matches
Vidal 53 matches
Arthur 44 matches

Even funnier, Sevilla 2013/14:
Rakitic 52
Bacca 52

Sevilla 2012/13:
Navas 45
Rakitic 42
Negredo 42

Rakitic has been the most used midfielder in all his teams in the last 7 years:
2 years under EV
3 years under Lucho
1,5 years under Emery at Sevilla
6 Months under Michel

I know that a forum has it's own favorites (mostly young players), but on the other hand, you have coaches for whom Rakitic is always the most used midfielder regardless of who is a coach, which formation a team plays and which other players are on the team's roosters (Barca, Sevilla, Croatia).

Doesn't make sense, as Gomes came in Lucho's last season.

Your history lesson on Rakitic is unnecessary, as people don't think Rakitic was a bad player in his first couple of seasons at Barça.

most used player, yet we always seem to be playing with 10 in the CL when he is on the pitch. one of the main reasons why our midfield gets destroyed away from home. but his fanboys will blame it on Messi going MIA

or my favorite excuse: "weak team mentality"..but isn't rakitic part of that team mentality since he is literally the most used player?

Lucho benched him Gomes, then changed his mind and again .

That only means 3 things:

1- Lucho unequivocally came to the conclusion we needed a more technical midfielder and that Rakitic was more suited to a squad player role here given his limitations as a player. Hence he benched him.

2 - The problem was, Andre Gomes turned out to be a flop of monumental proportions. And since we couldn't just spend another 50 million on another midfielder with the albatross that was Andre still here, Lucho reinstated Rakitic to our 11. One could say that was rather a matter of unwanted convenience than anything else.

3 - Rakitic's only genuine outstanding quality is the fact he never gets injured. Hence his impressive number of games. It doesn't matter whether you play 5 minutes or the full 90, they all count the same under the umbrella of 'appearances'.

* Needless to say though, quantity does not equal quality. Take last season for instance, do you really think Rakitic merited all those starts? Given how he 'performed' for most of last season, I think not.

Sadly for you, we usually play 2-4 CL knockout matches per season.
And the rest of our season is: 38 league matches and CDR.
Where we usually play against weaker teams who park the bus and don't press too much and the only question is that matches is: whether we will score or not.

In those 50 matches, forum's beloved Busi-Frenkie-Arthur trio consisted of three pivots who had less goals and assists combined than the worst midfielder in the universe.

As I have posted yesterday:
Busquets: 47 matches last season, 0 goals, 2 assists
Arthur: 36 matches, 0 goals, 1 assist
Frenkie: 42 matches, 3 goals, 3 assists
= total: 3 goals, 6 assists

The worst midfielder in the history of universe:
= 46 matches, 4 goals, 7 assists

So, no, Busi-Frenkie-Arthur doesn't look too promising at all in terms of assists and goals.
And that is what we usually need against crappy La Liga teams.

If you are referring to Liverpool and Roma, fine, Arthur can play.
But as said, that will be 2-4 matches per season.

Don't forget that Arthur was subbed of a few times in a row in a spring at a half time when we were chasing the score, iirc against Espanyol home, Sociedad home and CDR Valencia.
NOT because EV is an idiot, but because Arthur for now offered absolutely nothing in attack and in the attacking third.

So, let's wait and see whether EV will play a 3 pivot midfield at home against Leganes when we will chase a win.
And that is not because he is an idiot.
Quite contrary...

Who said Busi is beloved? People has been saying he is finished for two years now, calling for his head after each game.

Double Pivot MF of Frenkie and Arthur could work with this set-up

. . . . . . . . . . . Griezmann
Neymar . . . . . 👽essi . . . . . . Dembele
. . . . . . .de Jong . . . . . . Arthur
Firpo . . . Pique . . Todibo . . . Semedo

For a top attack line-up, I'd go with

. . . . . . . . . . . . Icardi
Neymar . . . . . 👽essi . . . . . . Dembele
. . . de Jong . . .Havertz . . . Griezmann
. . . Lenglet . . . Pique . . . Todibo . . .
