Another fresh leak from Rakitic's entourage (as per MD's own words even)

Rakitic aguantó ayer la presión del PSG

“Nada ha cambiado”, aseguraron fuentes cercanas al croata sobre los intentos del club francés por ficharle

-

Rakitic withstood pressure from PSG yesterday

Nothing has changed - said people close to him

-

MD say he's angry at being shopped around and is adamant he wants to stay, they also say he's for the signing of Neymar but he wants to play with him here in Barcelona.

-

I wouldn't be surprised to see him out of Valverde's 18 man squad.

Using MD as a legit source 😂

It's a legit source when Rakitic has done multiple interviews with them to put pressure on the club to renew his contract. Who can forget his multiple "I'm still waiting for the Presi to take a step forward" comments to MD.

There's no wonder MD journos defend Rakitic so much with a couple of them even having proclaimed he was perhaps the second most important player in the team last year. Dude probably feeds them information all the time.

I defended Rakitic very hard in 2017-19 until the spring. His recent arrogance and complacency, however, destroyed my love for him. Hope he leaves.

If he won't go to Psg and Neymar deal is dead, I'd be up for a swap involving Douglas Costa. He's not amazing, sure, but he's quick, can dribble and can play both wings, which would be useful. If only as a squad option.

Why get a poor man's Malcom when you've just sold the real thing lol

Meh, was never impressed with Malcom. Obviously he had very little opportunity to impress, but for me he was way too plodding to be a winger. He's more like a left footed coutinho, in that all he has in his locker is the slow mo cut in and shoot. Douglas Costa on the other hand, well he's not perfect by any means, but he's quick and an excellent dribbler. Different player entirely to Malcom, and for my money significantly better. Or at least more what we need if Dembele is gonna flop/get injured all the time.

Getting rid of this sack of shit would be worth bringing Neymar back by itself.

Quite possibly the single most overrated player we've had in a decade, and is consistently given a pass for performances much worse than displays anyone else would get slaughtered for.

This guy is just slaughtering Rakitic for his performance vs Liverpool:

The privileges he basked under Valverde left some pretty deep mental scars in people lol. Well over 100k views in less than 24 hours.

I don't remember a single player being allowed to underperform to such level and with such consistency - over an entire season - whilst his status as a starter remained intact. It was mind-boggling.

No wonder Valverde has told him he's no longer needed. He knows he majorly fucked up last season.

I don't know that can guy, but dictator-worshiping Özil should serve as an example why I don't want any turks in this club period.

Absolutely love Raki, but sadly I must say this guy's analysis are spot on!

Fairly obvious Rakitic has certain flaws, should never play in a game like that vs a team thats so capable of pressing.

However everyone seems to just focus on his flaws and dismiss his strengths, against weak sides where he can operate close to the goal he has value plus he had a good preseason.

I think a lot of this Rakitic hate stems from him being misused/overused.

My argument against keeping Rakitic to play against weak sides is that Valverde doesn’t have the initiative or tactical awareness that Rakitic shouldn’t be playing in big games like Liverpool etc it’s all or nothing so if Rakitic is a starter in La Liga he’s a starter in CL and the same thing will happen again as it’s done in the last few seasons, complete disaster in midfield. The CM position in those high pressing games is arguably the most important, you can make or break a game. Im also certain we can win La Liga without Rakitic, but going into the CL with him starting is suicide.
