Can't compare Madrid and Barca. Madrid have stripped La Liga teams off their talents and a year later are making big money transfers in the same positions again. What happened to the "new Spanish core" and "goalscoring Iniesta" Isco? Replaced already by a player who had a handful of good games in the World Cup. Blatant marketing moves. See the pattern? Bought 2 midfielders from the U21 EC winners just to replace them by a midfielder from the WC winners and the supposed MVP of the WC. You think Ancelotti is asking for those moves? lol Barca did spend big on Suarez but there wasn't a single striker in the squad. Didn't buy a new shiny toy in an already well equipped position. A striker was desperately needed, especially with Messi's development towards a #10. Despite Suarez though there is still emphasis on homegrown talent with a former youth coach calling the shots. Rafinha, Bartra and Deulofeu can all make it in the next 1 or 2 years. If Montoya doesn't make it it's his own fault, he ought to outperform aging Alves at some point. There are 3 or 4 new youth players who have good chances to break through soon and I'm not counting Roberto and Masip in that who both might surprise us. There is still a lot of sense in Barca's squad management. How Madrid are supposed to accommodate Modric-Kroos-James in the same lineup no one knows.

+1 Makes me laugh how people go on about Madrid's great business compared to Barca.. It happens to be better than ours in recent years because 7/8 of our first team players have come through La Masia instead of just spending millions on players who are already in form. LOL

Please elaborate

? should i explain it ? serious ?

Talking about age over footballing qualities is hilarious ? You do not look at the age of the players when you buy him ?
Fantastic and really good news !! in this case we can sell Xavi for 100mio Euro, who cares the age ?

Zidane 29y.o. for 77.5mio to RM. Is this an good exemple to follow ? Or maybe better explained, since RM bought a 29y.o. Zidane for 77.5mio euro is every purchase of this size justified?

(About Zidane for 77.5mio…. in any case we talk about one of the best players ever, 2x golden ball, WC and Europeanchampion,……, not even comparable to Suarez 81mio)

Nothing you have said makes sense. Completely flawed Logic. So if Zidane's price is justified because of his accolades (Golden Ball, WC etc) Why such the high price on Bale who as a Welsh player will never have chance to do that? Bale was bought on Premier League form only. Suarez form and record in the Premier League is absolutely 100% better than Bale's. Also you are forgetting strikers are typically more expensive than midfielders. If you think 81m is too much for the best striker in the world right now what do you think about Madrid willing to pay 100-120m for him which they were prepared to do. Some of the things you say makes me doubt if you have watched football this last season.. Suarez matched Ronaldo's goal tally in a harder league, less matches, weaker team around him and NO penalties.

Also i'm not sure if you are up to date with the latest Xavi news....... (maybe you are thinking of 2011 Xavi lol) but he is deciding whether to carry on as a Barca player or not so you suggesting that he still has 100m footballing qualities suggests you haven't followed much footballing news at all recently.

?

1) Ronaldo was 22 y.o. when he scored 31 goals and he was bought for 94mio at the age of 24 y.o.. Very good deal.
2) read my post: i never said that the price of Zidane is justified, i wrote that this is not a good exemple to follow. But if i have to find a justification, i wrote the reasons.
3) I do not understsand what do you mean abount Bale ? Welch,. premier league,... boh.
Bale was bought at 24 y.o.. Very good long invstment for the future, he was one of the best RM players.
4) I do not care what RM is willing to pay. We are not RM and i do not want to become a club like RM or PSG or MCity. Unfortunately (or rather, intelligently) RM did not buy Suarez.
5) My post was about the age/price.....nothing else
6) I am watching football from before you were born

But no problem, you have your opinion, i have my opinion.

I feel like we can't really say that anymore
They just buy what is hot, we did spend around 80M for Suarez but he is a proven goalscorer in 2 leauges.

James was decent with Monaco and had a pretty good tournament and that's it.

According to people who actually follow french football, he was anything but decent. Apparently he was second best player of the league, only second to Ibra.

Not that I feel like Los Merengues actually have a burning need for James right now, but I don't think one can dispute the fact, that he'll be one seriously scary player for RM.

Yes Ronaldo, great deal.. I never said it wasn't? Suarez for 80m with the same record 3 years older is a fair price.. Teams like Madrid were willing to pay more you keep forgetting that.

You brought up Zidane's WC and Golden Balls for his high price not me... A players current form well outweighs age and accolades like you suggest. If they mattered so much why didn't we sell David Villa, Champions League, WC winner for a high price? Current form>Age/Accolades always.

Nothing to say on your Xavi statement? You're talking absolute nonsense that's why. 80m for Suarez is reasonable maybe because you don't want to associate yourself with a big spending club like RM, PSG do... but the truth of it is, it's a good price.

Your original post was about the Rodriguez price being good compared to Suarez.. Would you prefer Barca to go for players who have a good 5 games in the WC and hope they flourish or a player proven in the hardest league in the world who is in the peak of his career?

Bale was th best player in the premiership and 3rd top scorer and only 2 behind suarez the season before he went to Real. Hardly 100% better than Suarez although he is 3 or 4 years younger.

Look what happened to Spurs when he left.

Tbh his development up to this point has been on a power with CR and I think he'll go on to be just as good.
