Tottenham wont sell certainly not below 30m. We lost our chance of getting him. And with Spurs qualifying for CL Vertonghen isnt likely to create a ruckus by pushing for a move He could have been perfect for Barca. Fast(faster than Hummels), played for Ajax(similar to our style), cheap (12m), can play as LB(against counter attacking teams), good tackler and great in the air. He could have been our Varane

Concerning Song, we needed a "black" player in our team after Keita's departure and I think that against teams like Chelsea or AC Milan which have strong black players (ObiMikel, Ramires or Muntari, Boateng and Zapata) he should play instead of Busquets or with Busquets because Sergio is pressing too high and let much spaces behind him and offensive midfielders of the team we're playing against have more freedom to go forward and then to score goals.

What does being black have to do with it? The mngt wanted a DM who could be a CB. Javi Martinez was the first choice. We are not UN trying to give all races representation

When I'm talking about black players, I mean strong and physically players and Song is the only one player we have who's very solid ; he played in BPL and it makes a difference when you play against players like Muntari or Boateng who are strong physically too.
But I agree with you about the fact that Song is only good in the midfield (we saw how awful he was at CB position) and Martinez was a better option but too expensive .

We should have bought him. Solid defender, not slow, great technique and excellent passing. Can play as central defender, left back and he played defensive midfielder in his younger years. What a shame.

If I remember correctly, it was Tito's. The "dm who can play cb" stuff being the determinant reason, and because Keita left. This was a really bad call, to put it mildly.

He was great today against inter, and scored a nice header.

We might want to throw in a bid for him this summer. Would have made more sense to get him last summer, but he'd probably still be cheaper than Hummels.
