Jean-Clair Todibo

They probably don't see the point in loaning him for 6 months. It's pointless. You only bring players for 6 months who could provide you instant impact. Which a 19 year old CB who's played 77 mins in 19 league games for Barcelona is certainly not that.

Good thing Barcelona are desperate to sell this guy with the high quality defenders they have right now.

We’ve leaked goals all season, yet he doesn’t get a chance. Imagine if he got a rare start and played like Pique/Umtiti today. We’d never see him in a Barca-shirt again.

Imagine seeing the shit served by Pique, Lenglet and sometimes Umtiti but still persisting with them. Imagine seeing their turtle like pace and lack of any physicality whatsoever and still not playing Todibo. Imagine trying to sell this guy all our other options for CB aren't any better, won't get better or are crocked. Unfathomable at any decent run club but not at Barcelona.

The entire back four needs to be rebuilt with actual balance and good players.

Who in their right mind sees a back four of Roberto Pique Lenglet/Umtiti and Alba and thinks "Wow what a balanced and strong backline!"

Not an ounce of athleticism, pace, physicality in that back four. Only alba has the pace in that back four.

Why we persist in this shit I have no idea.

Feel sorry for Todibo.

Actually hoping he manages to get out at this point. My only wish is for him to just go on loan WITHOUT any option to buy or even worse. 6 months would be fine, 1,5 year loan straight until 2021 would be even better. And of course get into a club where he plays regularly and keeps developing, in that case he'd be a legitimate starter candidate, or at worse 3rd choice material in 2021.

He should wait a bit, because if Xavi comes, his situation has really good chances of improving.

With our dire defense this season it's criminal he hasn't been given a chance, considering he held his own without playing a single game this season, against one of the most in form teams in Europe at their stadium, with an experimental Barca line-up giving him no protection at all. Guy was under fire all game.

How are Xavi's tactics in Al Sadd.
Does he play with actual defenders?

Todibo with Emerson on the right side of defence and either Lenglet or Pique with Alba on the other would be balanced. Obviously have no idea if Todibo will be good enough same for Emerson. In terms of a decent lineup, physically strong and quick with ability on the ball that's the best we can muster without spending big

If we have a plan, we have a coherent and stable system, a manager who knows what he is doing, most of the players we sign or already have will develop, even some of the ones perceived as lower qualty. If we have neither of those, they will fail. It's systemic. The elements which work without the system being good are called exceptions.

The failure of this club at the moment is managerial. Which means, board + manager. The manager the most since he is the one that manages the team, but the board become guilty by association by vouching for the manager while at the same time going after players the manager doesn't want or doesn't value. These things must be in sync. Get the right manager so you don't end up signing Barca-profile players like Arthur and De Jong who are, hilariously, not the right profile for the manager you have.
