The amount of shit you read here these days.

What makes me suspicious is, Seri was first linked to Barca in May/June. Ligue Un was already done there, only like 1-2 games left. Either he's basing his assumption of a very, very short amount of games, or the other hilarious alternative would be: he actually clicked a YouTube clip.

Or......what about.........

I don't know....

Xavi gives very few interviews and this was one of them made in July/August primarily to talk about Neymar's move to PSG?

not sure how that fits into the context tbh

Not sure what you're basing it on either unless you believe he should have started calling reporters to tell them about the player he discovered in Ligue 1.

It's a shit argument unless you have cameras in his house or simply don't believe his words which I couldn't care less about and again makes even less sense to argue.

Tone down, my boy. I stated what I'm basing it on: When Seri was first linked to Barca, or even called "african Xavi", it was the end of the season. Nice played 2 games from that point and he most likely had better stuff to do throughout the year to just follow random mid-tier teams from all over Europe. It was probably just meant to be a compliment and chit chat to fire up the transfer oven.

Xavi praises just about any player Barca are linked to or buy it seems.

Praised Arda, praised Vidal, praised Gomes, praised Denis as his heir, couple days ago praised Paulinho.

Then claimes Barca have been buying wrong players.

Xavi speaks a lot of shit about players I think depending on his audience. I doubt he has seen much of Seri.

What Xavi needed to do was to take someone under his wing and stood up for Thiago. Although the latter option could be out of the window as he probably already had his mind set for Pep and Bayern.

Ok, and what's the point? You can believe that, but what does it change?

You can't say for sure he hasn't watched him and you believe I can't say for sure he did just by believing what he said.

At the end of the day, who cares really? What are we even arguing? Whether Xavi sat on his ass to watch Nice and Seri play and not? Where's the significance in whether he did or not.....at the end of the day we didn't sign him.

Even if it's meant to be a compliment, it sure as hell is better than the drivel our directors are dishing.

'Didn't want to indulge in this crazy market'

Yet you went out and paid a club record fee for Dembele and 40m for a midfielder who no one else wanted or were willing to pay more than 20m and played in China.

He had his mind set on leaving because we played an injured Xavi and Cesc "statpad against minnows in the first half of the season and do fuck all else" Fabregas over him, and then told him to fuck off when he sought assurances. He was going to Man United before Bayern swooped in. They weren't even in the picture until he was basically out of the door.

God damn it, the revisionism here to attempt to paint Thiago as a traitor is insane. Us losing him was entirely the fault of the coach and the board.

Of course I can't. But the great thing is that I don't have to. This isn't a bloody court case. There's no "point", I just saw that interview and I was wondering when the fuck he saw those Nice games. I find the thought of Xavi browsing YouTube after reading Tweets quite amusing. That's really it.

That's exactly what we are arguing, and no, it isn't significant and there's no need to get worked up about it.

Not getting worked up. Just my style I guess, or my evolution from positive thinking culer to pessimist/realistic culer.

There's a lot of times he could have watched those games. Him being interviewed in August happened because Neymar left and Seri came up in the interview. He might watch a lot of football in Qatar where the competitive games is child's play for him. Doubt he spends his day playing golf all the time.

I mean, all of us are watching tons of football, but who actually throws the golf hour for a Nice game? I'm sure he watches games in his freetime, but like anyone it will be CL matches or the famous clubs such as Barca, Madrid, PL top teams, Juventus, Bayern, PSG etc. I have my doubts wether he actually sat there and searched the web for 240p streams of Nice games. When we are at Nice, then we might aswell be at Hoffenheim, Torino, Marseille, Frankfurt etc. You'd have to be desperately addicted and unemployed to watch THAT much football.

He probably has every channel there in HD.

Xavi strikes as a guy who's sickly addicted to watch football.

I try to miss almost no game that I can watch, but it's impossible to watch all because a) job and b) kickoff times, simply because 80% of games run within a 6 hour timespan on saturday and sunday. It just isn't possible. And Nice isn't exactly priority. He also said he watched him, after he was told about him. Even if we were to assume that this happened immediately after the first rumour turned up, then he'd have no more than 2-3 games to form such an opinion, and what tops it off is that in those particular games Nice including Seri didn't put in any effort anymore and drastically slacked off.

I think he did watch him and saw that he had some quality. Xavi notices small things about a player and can tell if he has potential even after watching for a short time.
