Mathieu was a useful player at CB and a decent signing that helped in the double and treble season.

He wasn't badest signing, but he was average. We shouldn't buy him because even in Valencia he was 29 years old average defender. Barca should be better than that. Unfortunately, with this board, it isn't.

There have been atleast +5 worse signings than Mathieu in the last 5 years. Mathieu wasn't too expensive and scored some pretty important match deciding goals during his time here. He mostly played bad only when he was subbed in midgame or was forced to play out of position. He also took a paycut to join us when we needed a defender desperately so can't really hate on him.
