Joan Laporta

Strange deal. All seem like short term solutions though and we end up losing valuable income in the future.

But who cares, eh? New president will have to deal with that. All hail Laporta the sellor, sorry, saviour of the club.
What's the alternative? We can't even register our players. Keep the assets and have a team made up by 50% B players?

Barça will register ALL the players before the start of La Liga. @Alfremartinezz
La Liga already has Barça's documentation for the registration of all the players. The club will try to register everyone. @ffpolo

Drop all the huge contracts in the space of 6 months (Alba, Pique, Busi)

Sell Dembele, Kessie, Nico, Trincao, Griezmann for 70m surplus in transfer income.

...

Still need a palanca to register everyone.

Priceless. For everything else there is Mastercard.

Do you all even read the official statement before posting bullshit? It's not a new sell, it's just about the same shares of Barca studios that were sold last year. They just change the owner, because both companies didn't pay up when they had to.

The club needed to free up €200m in wages to be profitable again and lost another €100m for playing in a smaller stadium this season. That's €300m the club needs to produce for Tebas' ffp. Not so difficult to understand.

The point is having to free up 200m SC after having pulled in over 400m in levers last season. It defies logic to have salary caps which can yoyo +/- 200m season to season.

Those 400m from levers were for immediate liquidity to pay the postponed players salaries from Covid time and strengthening the team last season with players like Rapha and Lewy.
Those 200m now have nothing to do with cash, but are Tabas' ffp requirement which says the club musn't have structural deficit. For the club to be profitable and to sign normally, they had to lose those €200m in wages or get some other income like the sale of Barca's studios because you can't simply lower current wages and that's Bartomeu's inheritance.

Very little of the levers were needed to pay players owed money due to deferred salaries.

Most of the deferred salaries were started to be paid last season and still owed.

It was used to sign players and because they could only use a certain % for that from the levers it was also used to reduce some debts.

The 200m this season is a bit misleading as some players were leaving anyway and ceasing of Barca TV etc was allowed by La Liga to count as part of that 200m clearing.

Nowhere near 200m has been cleared from salaries this summer in terms of players would have to move on.

Last summer the levers would not have been pulled if not for la liga rules.

It's always a good read coming here, seeing fans criticize Laporta & the decisions he's made.

When the entire forum bar 2 of 3 where singing along with Barto & rosell as they sank the club, they either had their heads in the sand or blamed everything on the amigos, without taking the 3 seconds it would require to ask themselves one question, who is enabling the amigos culture at the club.

Instead we got great lines like Laporta is only keeping the seat warm for rosell to name a few.

But after the ship has sailed and the club is on the brink, now everyone has a PHD in financial management.

Kinda like cops in the movies, arriving too late, with a bunch of hindsight deep questions and solutions.

They are making the tough decisions they have to make to keep the club afloat, if more ask questions before all this, none of this would be required.

Also fuck la Liga and their salary rules, it makes absolutely no sense what's so ever.

Club were never 'on the brink'.

Fake news unless think no one would have taken the decisions needed... a loan.

The discussion has always been for Laporta where he picked the club at anyway so irrelevant.

Laporta hasnt got it all right.. fact. Some will comment on the good and bad... some will just go to one extreme or the other.

Usual suspects when doesnt go well... alll fault of others.. when does.. all credit to Laporta.

Nothing objective whatsoever and usually from those that dont have clue what talking about as proven in past.
