The club will be in shambles because of this.
If we had the money why arent we going for CDM, LW or RB/CB

:) No hype.
But the LW in my opinion is not an issue, Raphinha is an average lad there, the issue is Lewandowski and Gundogan and Olmo might help.
If we want to get to a stellar level Raphinha is shit, but so is Nico Williams.
The DM was the huge issue for a decade now

Hermano, I thank you for what you did in your first campaign, but the cold hard facts are this time around you have not bought ONE player, not fucking ONE, that you can now sell for a profit. Olmo will be the next. He will NEVER be worth more than what you have just paid for him.

You have been totally saved from a royal humiliation by the greatness of La Masia. A team without Yamal , Gavi, Araujo, Cubarsi, Balde, Fermin is in Europa Conference League.

Now we want Casado, Bernal and Valle to be the next ones to carry our ass.

We are still waiting for a DM, annnnnnnnd a right back aaaaaaaand a winger with pace. We have been waiting your whole term

It's over. I will always support you over Font, but if Pique is ready, it's time to say adiós.

You know if he chooses to run in 2026 almost 0% chance he loses right?

Under the worst economic climate in history, he's

Build a new stadium.
Stabilized out finances
Cut our wage bill
Increase sponsorship revenue
Probably wins another league title by 2026.

What's the other guy that's gonna run against him going to say? He signed lewa and Olmo, when we needed a young striker and Williams?.

That he talks a lot in the media?

But in all likelihood he won't run again, he will leave having come in when the club is at its lowest point, and did the business again.

2026 will be time for some new blood, font is a joke that talks nothing but non sense, we'll see who runs then.

LB also, but Fort was promising there, absolutely elite against Bilbao (Xavi ignored that and gave him minutes on the right for no reason and played Cancelo in the big games and now the idea that Fort was elite as LB is lost to time) and Balde can be decent.

Taking out loans and selling levers is not the modern day miracle as made out.

Anyone who came would have to have taken out loans and loans were always going to be needed for the stadium.

The reality is most likely that the financial decisions made will lead to Barca having to sell off more of the club assets or % of ownership and Laporta will be long gone by then.

There was literally zero option for anyone who came in other than to take out loans and reduce wage bill.

Effectively the levers kicked the can down the road and what has been down with it could have been a lot more.

The wage bill should be a lot better by now and not continuing to struggle to sign players when have 70m odd on the books for 34yrd old x2 and a 36yr old.

Also the failures in Europe.. has probably cost the club another 150m+ and squeezed wage bill further... another argument for levers was to maintain level of performances in Europe.

I already told you, stop using newspaper clap-trap all those leavers and selling stuff in a hurry have long term effects.
You can't predict the future and he cut shit. The old guard finally left or was out of contract. Those who refused are still here, those who came have big wages.

The stadium is the only success for now, but he already sold the VIP areas so the next president will have to take money out of thin air regarding that issue.

I don't want Pique as president, but Laporta totally fucked up the trasfers.

You gotta be in the room when it happens, ma dude, he was the one in the room calling the shots that stabilized the club.

Club needed 100's of Millions to refinance loans that were coming due.

Option 1) sell all our players and start from zero.

Option 2) understand the time value of money, and in doing so you know that 700m today is worth more than 700m, 15 years from now.

If we had someone like font, who is a pussy that's afraid to make decisions,he would have had us stay in the camp nou, crippled with fair.

He has way more to run on than anyone who could possibly challenge him in 2026

but instead he'll just walk away, leaving the club in a stadium that generates 200m+ per year and the biggest Jersey sponsorship in Europe and a wage bill inline with other big clubs.

Terrible job he did.

There was no option for anyone but to 'stabilize' the club through loans and reducing wage bill.

Walk away taking out loans to build the stadium as already planned... miracles.

The wage bill is still much bigger than a lot of other top clubs... they are paying 70m for 34yr x2 and 36yr on books this season in way no other top clubs will.

It used to be 'Barca have to compete and win all the top trophies' as justiification.. now it is.. loans taken for stadium as if some huge miracle.

As said it will result in Barca selling a % of club in the end and Laporta will be long gone by then.

I thought he’d do good things for the club. L for me if club worse off in the end. Isn’t he resolving the financial situation?

He is a Lawyer after all and if he would have unilateral cut the wages in pandemic not taking debt that would have been impressive. But he didn't, because the case would have been insane and he needed to fight UEFA in a court.
The rest of his legal and financial moves are average but he spent lots of money on investments that failed.

If that's your criteria, you'll take a W.
If your criteria is signing a LW and DM, then you'll take an L.

Up to each, what they think is more important.

The stadium was a great political move either way.

Folk will make out he built it and will be used to deflect for any failures on the park and inability to follow through on what promised.

They have lost a lot of money on transfers and poor performances in Europe that squeeze finances further.

No. Not only criteria obviously. But was wondering if we made significant progress on that matter.

BTW you can't sell players if they don't want. What you say is impossible. He had one chance to temporarily slice the wages due to pandemic mirroring the loss in revenue.
That was possible and legal. But not legal from the perspective of UEFA.
If you don't do that risky legal move you need to loan and sell assets and he did that.
Anyone would have done that because the alternative was selling the club or bankruptcy.
