John Stones

Not all.Munir and sandro are not overhyped.Sergi roberto wasn't hyped by anyone but came out as amazing from out of the blue.

Munir a year and a bit ago was being hailed as the next great thing and people were scared of him leaving to Arsenal for his buy out.

Sandro and Roberto were never really rated all that highly though but when youngsters are rated people tend to go over board and you hear things like 'Tello is new Henry' or why sign Neymar when we have Cuenca'. Barta has been called the 'best young defender in europe' at times. Montoya was 'the future Spanish RB'..

Not all Barca youngsters are rated but a lot of them who are then people go overboard.

All clubs do it though.

Cant be many defenders in world football better on the ball than Stones.

Some really classy moments in game vs Palace.

Head and shoulders the best player on the park vs C Palace.

Easily good enough to play for Barca and will be one of top 2/3 CBs in world in not too distant future.

Imagine if we had him against Valencia. A solid signing at CB is the final piece we need to make our team as good as it can be and I'm really hoping this guy will be that signing.

He's at least as error prone as any of our CBs. I don't really see how he would have helped us against Valencia.

I see him as being a better CB than Mascherano. Against Valencia a better defense would have done us well. The play against them wasn't so spectacular that you can say any defenders would have made the same poor decision.

I've seen a lot of Everton this season, mainly to see Deu of course, but also to see if Stones would live up to his hype. There's no doubt he's got the skill set to become a brilliant defender, but right now he's young and seriously error prone. Sure, if you watch youtube vids of him, he'll look like a god damn world champion - just like our exiled wonderkid - but in reality he makes at least as many mistakes as Masch does.

Will he get better than Masch in the future? Most likely. Is he better right now? Doubtful.

Samuel Umtiti would definitely be a better fit for us than Stones. Umtiti is a left footer and has more experience, while still being only 22.

Thats the right time then. If we want him, this summer should be it. Otherwise, he will be another marquinos case.
