Jordi Alba

What's amazing to me is not so much that he got there that fast, but that he had the energy and that he believed he could get there in time to contribute.

that's about 90 yards? in 8 seconds and he slowed down abit in the middle

Alba is mind-blowing. This guy is turning into one of my favourite players easily. Obviously his speed is incredible, and I love the way he combines with Villa and Iniesta on that left flank. It's a joy to watch. Pretty good defender, too, for such an attacking-minded player. And he has the finishing abilities of a seasoned striker. And we paid 14 million for him.

If I remember right, Alba's signing was one of the most criticized in this forum last summer?
Everybody was like ... "oh no, Alba can't defend, oh no, him and Alves in a same team .. we're going to be crushed".
Let's hope something similar happens to Neymar, too

I just happened to read old posts today in this thread (because I have huge crush on Alba, no homo) and no, people were happy he was being bought and after EURO finals there was no doubt he would fit this team without problem

Well the Alves+Alba partnership has cost us quite a bit recently. Alba as an addition to the team has been absolutely wonderful and he truly is the puzzle piece we were missing.

Well, I guess I remember just a few specific posts I've read. Most surely before the Euro, because only a nutter would say "no" to Alba after it.

p.s. I also have a crush on Alba and it's veeeery homo.

Can't remember that happening tbh

Cue 10 quotes by me criticizing it

well tbh we have conceded a lot of goals this season because we are playing 2 attacking fullbacks, but simply telling one of them to stay behind when the other one goes on the offense(or one being on the offense and one on the defense the whole time) should not have been such a mystery for the management
but yes, obviously the "he cant defend" part was bollocks

I remember when he was first touted, people were worried because Abidal is one of the few tall players in the team and getting another midget seemed like a bad idea. After the Euros though his possibilities going forward won everyone over.

And he doesn't seem to be running at his full speed the entire time. He slows down after he crosses the center line, then speeds up again when he sees Alexis cross.

 at the commentating. "Alexis Sanchez makes the wrong decision." No you moron this is Barça, instead of time wasting he just gave the assist for the goal that settled it.
I think the British will never understand.

That was Graeme Souness, actually Scottish but your point is spot on...He's an interesting example actually...He's what you'd call a Barcelona convert because back in '09 he was a nonbeliever and has since come full circle on their style and class...I think he of all people probably deserves some credit for at least being vocal in his turnaround...Yet, something as simple as that and he reverts to form and criticizes Alexis for not time wasting - hilarious really...Even the ITV crew were laughing at the fk Leo took before Villa's goal, saying they just played it like a restart rather than hoofing it into the box...Nevermind that they scored within a minute of that

Some forms of myopia take even longer to come full circle and into focus
