Not necessarily. More correctly, players with pace often overplay themselves within a single match. If you push your body to the extreme, the muscles will tear when depleted, sooner or later. Hamstrings especially.

That's understandable for everyone who thinks like a child. Abidal absent, buy LB. Keita leaves, buy MF. Problem solved. Or... how about no? It's (not) hard to understand because we didn't need to replace Keita. We had been using Mascherano, a defensive midfielder, as a CB, in shortage of an actual one. So instead of putting Mascherano back where he belongs and buying a CB, we decided to spend money and buy ANOTHER defensive midfielder, which is ridiculous. Mascherano is the one who should be Busquets' backup / Keita's replacement. We should have bought a CB. I can't believe there's people who don't agree.

Montoya deserves more playing time. I believe he can manage La Liga games...However, it seems that the coach didn't have the guts.

So we should just keep using Mascherano out of position? I like Song, but if he's here to stay now, then we should sell Mascherano and buy a CB. For all I care, Song can stay, Masche can leave, or the other way around. Either way, we need a CB and have one extra defensive midfielder. That's my point. And that's why buying Song was ridiculous, because we have more urgent matters to take care of. A replacement for Busquets is the last thing on our priority list. Busquets plays almost as much as Messi. Whoever his replacement is will not be playing a lot, so it might as well have been Mascherano. You can see how much Keita's replacement/Song was needed by how much he played this season. Oh, and take away the minutes he played as CB.

That would be correct if not for the fact Song was brought to cover for dm and cb. He wasn't just a replacement for Keita(who isn't a dm, btw. He wasn't Busi backup).
After losing Abidal and Puyol with so many injuries, the department that needed to be strengthened wasn't, and this is going for 2 seasons now. Song is a great player, but he is not what was needed. He's just being wasted, rarely playing, as he showed he can't play cb.
