To the right. As he's a right back, that's his place, and no matter what, that his responsibility.

Bartra was defending the area of the near post and never picked up Gomez.

Bartra had to do that as Pique out of position and defenders are told to mark that near post area. He actually clears the ball beacuse of it.

If you cant see that then fair play.

Bartra went to Gomez first but saw that Alves was there and then he went to the near post. If Alves moved back to cover Ribery, Bartra would've been in front of Gomez and properly marking him.

Prefer Ribery than trying to stop someone who he cant, obviously if the right ball comes Gomez would head it easily

Wow.

So now he is in the wrong for marking Gomez and not leaving him to mark Ribbery?

That is mental to think that is the way to defend.

No he didnt Barta made the correct decision to mark the near post area.

It is basic defending and he cleared ball from it.

No that's the right way to defend, if you've ever played football. He had tracked Gomez first correctly but when Bartra came in he was free to cover the far area, his own domain which he should be defending.

Totally wrong, Bartra defended the correct area.

If you had the slightest clue of how CB's are told to cover areas then he was in the correct place and in the end cut out the ball.

So its corrent for Bartra to cover only the area, Dani Alves to cover Gomez and leave Ribery Alone?i think the fact is that they defended tottaly wrong. And that shows how we got all year and what needs to be changed
