Bartra was defending the area of the near post and never picked up Gomez.

Bartra had to do that as Pique out of position and defenders are told to mark that near post area. He actually clears the ball beacuse of it.

Prefer Ribery than trying to stop someone who he cant,obviously if the right ball comes Gomez would head it easily

Bartra did the right thing in defending near post as Pique was out of position.

It is basic defending.

They were caught short and both Alves and Bartra were in the right areas.

No he didnt Barta made the correct decision to mark the near post area.

It is basic defending and he cleared ball from it.

100% it would have been crazy to leave Gomez and mark Ribery, if it gets to Ribery then that is a risk to take.

So its corrent for Bartra to cover only the area, Dani Alves to cover Gomez and leave Ribery Alone?i think the fact is that they defended tottaly wrong.And that shows how we got all year and what needs to be changed
