Vermaelen hasn't played a single minute of football this season. Grimaldo would be twice as good as him as a backup due to match fitness alone. Mathieu played left back in a big game and it was probably the most cringe-worthy appearance from a LB I've seen from Barca since... I don't even know how long. No offensive talents whatsoever and his tendency to get caught out of position due to a lack of focus got him in trouble a lot more when he didn't have Pique there to mask his mistakes. Adriano is just... no.

A lot can be said about how much we lack options when we don't have Dani, but at least Montoya is serviceable. When we lose Alba we're pretty much screwed as far as LB goes.
