Bayern is a good team ofc, but really, they have gotten destroyed these two seasons by top opposition. And thats where their run ends, against the best teams, they are simply not there, no matter how many times they win bundesliga in february.

I agree with you ofc, they've been overhyped since the beginning of the season for trashing the granadas of bundesliga 8-0 but I always taught they were just that (this season), overhyped, my emoticon was ironic hinting to the fact that your statement has faced relentless argumenting by bayern fans in this same forum.

I don't think Bayern is overrated. They just need a few fresh players, maybe Reus and KDB

Overrated no, they're an amazing team, but overhyped? yes, you couldn't escape reading that they'd win every possible thing this season back in september, I just couldn't see it.

They were also superhyped last year and still got trashed 5-0 by RM against whom we won both LaLiga legs with Alexis and Cesc.. but that was just a small aparté joke on Morten's comment, let's stick to Mourinho :)

Hahahaha this speech is great. I love Mou.
Jose Mourinho has used Chelsea’s end of season awards dinner to deliver a tongue-in-cheek speech mocking the critics of his side’s style of play and to poke fun at his Premier League rivals.

The Blues won the Premier League title with three matches to spare and the Portuguese has previously admitted he opted for more of a substance over style approach as his side homed in on the trophy.

On Tuesday night he told a story about three other teams whose kits bore something of a resemblance to that of Manchester United's, Manchester City's and Arsenal's.

Before that, however, he fired a shot at those who criticised his side, before addressing his players.

Mourinho said: "I don't think my players got the respect that they deserve after what they did from day one till the last day.

"And these are words that I really feel, serious words."

Following the speech, Mourinho added: "The end of the story is just simple. We have to start believing that they learned the lesson and next season will be much, much more difficult for us. We have to be ready for that."

Mourinho's story was accompanied by graphics at the end of season dinner, where players celebrated a season in which they won the Premier League title and Capital One Cup.

"This is a football pitch with two goals, one ball, but there is one team that would like to play without goals," he said, of the plain red-shirted team, or Manchester United.

"That team plays really well and the ball goes and goes and goes and the quality of the ball possession is really beautiful, but no goals.

"And they ask the international board of FIFA to play like this, but they were told that it was not possible, that the bigger percentage of ball possession doesn't win matches and they were not champions.”

Mourinho then moved on to Manchester City, who finished eight points behind Chelsea in second.

He said: "After that there was another team (wearing sky blue shirts) that were less radical and they asked to play only with one goal.

"They were fantastic and they scored a lot of goals and the goals were coming from every position and they score and they score and they score, but they never conceded goals, because no goal.

“Again, the international board told them 'I'm sorry, you can't be champions because football is with two goals'.”

Speaking of Arsenal, Mourinho said: "The third team (red shirts, white sleeves) was almost there, because they wanted to play with two goals.

"They were scoring some, they were also conceding some. They were fantastic. They scored really beautiful goals, they concede some goals too and they were almost there.

"But they asked the international board to play only between January and April. And they told 'no chance, no chance'.

"You have to play between August and May, so they couldn't be champions.”

Lastly, of his own Chelsea side, Mourinho said: “Finally come another team (blue shirts). They wanted to play with the normal rules and they know that to win matches they had to score one more goal than the opponent.

"How can you do this? By scoring a lot of goals or not conceding and scoring one.

"And they did it both ways. Scoring a lot, conceding some. Scoring one goal and conceding no goals.

"That was the option and lots of goals were conceding, they played from August till May and sometimes they brought the bus.”

The speech is better on paper than when Jose did it. He looked and sounded too rehearsed, as if they were actively trying to copy LVG's speech from last week.

I think chelsea will have a deeper run in CL next season. If united seriously push for PL title then their chances reduce a lot. They are not good enough to compete on 2 fronts.

I think some statement in that vain is being made before almost every single season. Not so much about Chelsea, but about Jose. His fans just never give up.

Moreover, after having been eliminated at the round of 16, technically it would only take Chelsea drawing some Galatasaray/Olympiacos (as they usually did) in the Last 16 to make your statement valid.

First of all i am not his fan, i despise him. Second they are not a weak team, they lost to a very determined psg team on away goals. Mou is capable of making good signings, i think they are ready to challenge for CL. Only barca and real (real under rafa will take time to adjust) are clearly better than them right now. Bayern level is dropping every season with players getting old. Their main aim was to win PL this season and they achieved it, i am sure mou will concentrate more on CL next season. In the end they could go out in R16 again but i have a feeling they will reach Semi final.

OK, fair enough.

I still maintain that Jose tends to be overrated by the average football fan, regardless if they are his fans or not. Of course Chelsea are a very good team and of course they can do well in the CL next season. They have some young players and also have the money to buy even more. Talk is that they will go for yet more Atleti players this summer which is very much possible (hell, we might be calling them "Atletico Londres" next season :mou:) A lot will depend on how the draw pans out.

But I disagree that Chelsea are readily the 3rd best team in Europe. Bayern will also move in the market this summer (unlike some people, Pep realizes that Ribery is probably done and Robben is on the wrong side of 30 as well) The rest of the EPL Top 4 also have lots of cash, so we may see some of them improve radically. Juventus will also probably get lots of cash from selling Pogba and PSG will also make their customary splash in the summer. So, there are around 10 clubs in Europe with the resources to challenge at the very top level.

If Mou was such a great coach he would be able to achieve good results with good football against strong opponents.
His negative tactics are ok if you are dnipro but if you are Chelsea you should play better than bore the football world just for results.

Mourinho is a short term motivation trainer. He is Lucky that he gets extremely overrated by the British media, everything he does is labled as genius when its actually cowardly or mistake that just works itself out.

He is lucky that Chelsea fans have no honour or want to see great football. They are perfectly fine with anti football being their legacy and having a reputation as bus parkers as long as it get results. They even take pride in other people ripping their football.
Its like an old school serie A club.

But to me Chelsea and Mourinho are not good representatives of football, people wont fall in love with the game by them and I feel big clubs have responsability to play the beautiful game in a beautiful way. Or maybe that is just a romantic point of view.
Thats my main reason why I dont want to see Chelsea or Mourinho anywhere near a cl victory again.
