Why did Milan fire him?
Why all this hate for Roura? People dont have the first idea about his capabilities.
The arrogance on here has no boundaries calling a 68 year old a 'fossil' that has no idea.
Get a grip and see where season takes Barca.
Not saying I know of Rouras capabilities but if Pep and Tito trusted him enough then I am happy they know far more than what it takes than any of us.
Braida - no ones knows anything about him but to just write him off as he is 68 and foreign is absurd when people dont even have the slightest idea what role he would be getting asked to carry out.
JamDav you may need to relax a bit. Not everything needs to be taken so seriously. My post was about as exaggerated and satirical as an attempt at comedy can be. Yet here you are taking it the complete opposite.
They trusted him as a scout, and as a assistant. That's a long way to become the ceo of la masia. He's been thrown under the bus again, as bartomeu is more concerned with the elections, and wanted a easier solution for Barça B problems. But this could backfire very badly.
I don't think Bradia's age is a problem, but his profile. Cruyff is 67, same age. But we'll have to wait and see how this will turn out.
I would say scout and assistant are very high profile roles where an opinion needs to be trusted. At the very least Pep and Tito trusted his opinion, communication and organisational skills for the role.
I doubt this role is anywhere near as big as you make out anyway. A lot of it will be an administrative role I would bet.
Roura has always came across as an honest, hard working man trusted by some of Barcas top brains in the past 7/8 years. It grates on me the way people try to run people like him down as if he is a clueless idiot.
I don't really mind any of the two in the context of the likelihood they'll be able to both do much, if anything, in the few months they'll likely have their respective jobs. It is more provable than not there'll be a new board come June and even if there isn't, just as provable is the fact Bartomeu might just as well get new people then too.
These are just moves to fill the positions in the interim.
Hard to tell on here as people make genuine comments like that all the time!!
Apologies.
Maybe he retired? Or Berlusconi and he didn't see eye to eye. I'm not sure.
