Press wouldn't be motivated to attack us if Barto and Rossell didn't break the law and then end up in a court where clear evidence is presented against them.

I love Barca as much as the next Cule. That means admonishing the board, Barto, and Rossell for putting the club in this situation.

I'm used to Madrid based attacks in the past and would normally ignore them but it was our own leaders who've given them this ammunition this time. Why defend them?

They have not been found guilty of breaking the law yet.

Loads of clubs have had tax cases brought against them and been allowed to settle it. Barca have not been allowed to.

Barto is saying club have done not commited fraud and this is a campaign to smear the club.

Lets see what outcome of investigation is but is unusual for this sort of situation to be taken this far.

Pique is also having problems with his taxes, and he didn't get as much exposure as Messi did. Messi does get a lot more of bad press, because he is the best player ever. Then again, that's on his father, not on madrid media. they're just seizing the moment.

This has nothing to do with neymar's signing, though. Rosell resigning was a confession of guilt. If nothing was wrong, why did he do it? You think something like this will be let go by the spanish autorithies? Of course it won't. They'll go all the way. But the problem started with rosell. Not with madrid media. If there was nothing wrong the neymar signing, none of this would be happening. Simple as.

There is an allegation that Messi received money for his friendly games through offshore accounts and tax heavens. There's also allegations that he was aware of it. There's was an incident of Messi's tax underpayment to Spanish fiscal agencies a year ago, which he paid last year. Here's the question: does anyone here thinks that Messi is crook, he should be in the jail. Or is anyone is naive enough to think that Messi is the only one in Spanish football who is trying to minimize his tax impact. Why no one is telling "well, there's no excuse for Messi not to pay his taxes".Nobody sees the intention of damaging the club's best player because Catalonia VOTED for independence? Read the forums in the Spanish newspapers, see how bitter is the regular guy about this Independence talk. During ATM game every time Messi was getting kicks , the crowd was cheering and chanting "do it again". There was a time when Calderon was giving standing ovation to Messi, what has changed?

we are in the wrong but there is clearly a conspiracy against us, i just get the feeling that the whole world outside of barca can't wait for it to fail. even outside of spain.

Its not so much the bad press for Messi it is the way he was not allowed to just settle with a payment in the way others were.

A hell of a lot of people on here think thats unfair and a deliberate attack on Barca. Which personally I agree with. Not that for a second it means Messi camp did nothing wrong.

Flavia I have said a thousand times I am not trying to say they did nothing wrong. They will have their day in court for that.

If it comes that they just pay a tax contribution then nothing is different from all the other top clubs that have done similar.

The conspiracy started inside the club, then. rosell was an undercover rm agent, maybe?

i don't think that, he did the dodgy deal because he's a dodgy guy. but what happened after shows that people are out to get barca and try and ruin them as much as possible.

We have to thank Rosell for giving them the ammunition to try to break us then. Of course we'll always get sh*t especially in Spain but Rossell and Barto should have known that it was going to come out with the extra attention on us.

Rosell lost his way in this transfer as he knew it was going to be his legacy as president.

He tried to portray Barca as getting Neymar on the best deal possible with the economic focus as has been there for much of his time in charge.

For me thats the motivation far more than any attempt at fraud to line their own pockets etc.

Would you still think that if the court finds Barca did nothing criminal but still have to pay the tax contribution?
